Personally I think Turkel changed his name because true Christians (and his family) were embarassed by him.
Here's an answer to your silly "how long" question Turkel; people will always ignore your "name change" you can't run from it or try and deflect attention from the fact that you changed your name.

I've known several folks that have worked in the penal system and none have ever felt the need to change their name for "safety purposes" or any other reason.
The only people that change their names are those with something to hide.
So you can keep deluding yourself about why people are unresponsive to your name change...

There is accountabilty in the universe and you changing your name won't nullify that. You've been a juvenile dishonest charlatian and your name change won't hide that...no matter what you call yourself you are who you are.

1) Some states let people who work in the penal system use an alias at work, which amounts to the same thing.
2) Unless those folks were morons or worked for some, they surely did things (or were told to) like have unlisted numbers, or other equitable precautions.

Who cares what his name is? It's irrelevant to rather or not what he says is true. Quite a few authors do not use their real name or write under a different name. In fact, JK Rowling (as I recall) didn't use her first name for the longest time and still doesn't include them on the title of the Harry Potter series. Who cares what JPH's 'real name' is? Do you really think my 'real name' is lilangelofterror? Is your 'real name 4thdensity by chance?

We're all still waiting for you to produce some kind of evidence that he is dishonest. I have read all the web sites about his 'dishonesty' and most of them try to pretend that him not using his real name is evidence of that. It is funny that I do not see any of them giving their personal contact information online. Why don't they? So how dishonest are they or you for not doing the thing you accuse JPH of?
