Prosperity Gospel
Creflo Dollar sits atop a religious empire. He has a congregation of nearly 40,000 people with offices on six continents, a series of successful books, and a daily television show that reaches a billion households worldwide.
This "Prosperity Gospel" has earned Dollar a fervent following. "I have prospered under his ministry," said one follower. "You can't stay up under the word of God and not prosper."

this was a show just on nightline, anyone care to share any thoughts?I'm 100% sure that unsustainable conspicuous consumption of natural basic resources (like water and oil) will eventually lead to a proverbial hell on earth for those people who get stuck with the mismanagement mess of mankind not being stewards of the environment.

Re: Prosperity Gospel
It would be more helpful if we discussed the actual theology behind the prosperity gospel, than the people... just my 2c :)
Anyway, the prosperity gospel is right to say that God does not want us to be poor... that he wants to supply all our needs. But it's obviously taken too far when it comes to extravagance.
Since we are the bride of Christ, I suspect God wants to give us the very best (what groom does not want the best for his wife?) but also since God is our Father, he gives us the very best at the very best TIME.www.ryanpeterwrites.com (My site)

Creflo Dollar
“ That was God in that body, we always think of that with the last Adam but we never say that with the first Adam. It was God. God took a reflection of Himself and put it in a physical body formed out of the dust and gave him authority of all physical things on the planet. So that like He was God in heaven, now He’s made Adam God of the earth. Adam has been crowned God of all physical things from the dust of the earth including the moon the stars and the planets. I’m going to show you all thin in Scripture but just follow me now… I’m just askin’ you to trust me for a minute until I open the Bible”.
“Mars and Venus and Jupiter, all of the handiwork of God was now placed in the authority of the God of the earth. And here’s what He told him. He said I want you to guard it and keep out all intruders. Now that gives us a little insight on why When God made Adam all he did was make an exact imprint of hisself. He duplicated himself, he was the image and from his image came hisself…”
“Everything that God has made. He has given man authority over His handiwork. [speaking in tongues] even the moon.” “I believe with all my heart that those planets out there are just a bunch of unfinished work that God was designing for man to finish as they entered into God training 101. Now, let’s get back to scripture”

Creflo Dollar Says - "If Jesus came as God, then why did God have to anoint him? If Jesus - See God’s already anointed. If Jesus came as God, then why did God have to anoint him? Jesus came as a man, that’s why it was legal to anoint Him. God doesn’t need anointing. He is anointed. Jesus came as a man and at age thirty, God is now getting ready to demonstrate to us and give us an example of what a man with the anointing can do."

Creflo Dollar Says - "But Jesus didn’t show up perfect. He grew into His perfection. You know Jesus - one scripture in the bible - he went on a journey, he was tired. You better hope God don’t get tired. Isaiah 50says, 50, 60, somewheres says where we have a God who fainteth not, neither is wearied? But Jesus did. If He came as God and he got tired; He says he sat down by the well because he was tired. Boy we’re in trouble."

Creflo Dollar Says - "And somebody said, well, Jesus came as God! Well, how many of you know the Bible says God never sleeps nor slumbers? And yet in the book of Mark we see Jesus asleep in the back of the boat. Please listen to me. Please listen to me. This ain’t no heresy. I’m not some false prophet. I’m just reading this thing out to you of the Bible. I’m just telling you, you all these fantasy preacher have been preaching all of this stuff for all of these years and we bought the package!"
(Creflo Dollar, "Jesus' Growth into Sonship," December 8, 15, 2002, Product Number: 3422093, 3132094)
Creflo Dollar Says - "Somebody said, 'Well, Jesus knew all things.' Well, what happened to that fig tree situation? Seeing a fig tree far off, He saw leaves on the fig tree and thought if happily He might come to that fig tree and eat of that fig tree. But when He got there He saw that there were no figs on that tree. Well, wait a minute! Ha, ha, we better, we better hope God knows when figs are on a tree! [Amen's and laughs] But Jesus didn't come as God! He came as a man! Because, if Jesus came as God He would have known figs were on a fig tree without having to see the leaves on the fig tree!"

Re: Prosperity Gospel
I agree with you 100%. However, Creflo Dollar is only giving what people's ears are itching to hear (2 Tim. 4:3-4). And he is NOT alone. You see them around you all the time.
Most evangelists are aware of the fact that people by nature WANT to follow the line of least resistance. Hence, they give these people's itching ears what they want to hear. They give them the "faith alone" gospel and get RICH doing it as well.
Many evangelists are aware of the fact that people by nature WANT to have their cake and eat it too. Hence, they give these people's itching ears what they want to hear. They give them the "universal salvation" gospel and get rich doing it as well.
Many evangelists are aware of the fact that people by nature WANT to be God or a god. Hence, they give these people's itching ears what they want to hear. They give them the "exaltation" gospel and get rich doing it as well.
Many eveangelists are aware of the fact that people by nature WANT to be known as humble and obedient. Hence, they give these people's itching ears what they want to hear. They give them the "salvation by works" gospel and get rich doing it as well.
Many evangelists are aware of the fact that people by nature are health conscious and want to live long. Hence, they give these people's itching ears what they want to hear. They give them the "health" gospel and get rich doing it as well.
What more can I say?

Apparently you can't make the connection, so here it is plainly: "Let us make man (Adam) in our image and in our likeness and let them have dominion[/b] Gen.1:26
And:
Ps 8:4-8
4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings (Elohim=God) and crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:
7 all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,
8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

Just because YOU were never taught it, doesn't mean it isn't true. You're like a cow looking at a new gate.

Re: Prosperity Gospel
Forgive ty, Lord because he is a huge hypocrite for judging people and then condemning THEM for judging.
Get a clue ty.
Jesus was rich????
He was probably what passed for middle class back then at best. He was homeless and traveled around preaching. The apostles were fishermen and ordinary people. The richest was probably Matthew, a tax collector who gave up his job and riches to follow Jesus.
The prosperity gospel is a horrible lie, that tries to tie Christians to the world with greed. Jesus told the rich young man to give up his riches and follow him, and that the poor were blessed.
sheesh.

Re: Prosperity Gospel
so I suppose if Creflo is right that means that God sinned and got fooled by satan and then punished himself by kicking himself out of the garden and making himself mortal and had to live by the sweat of his brow. wait, that doesnt sound so rich to me.
Hey I wonder if Ty is rich? If not that means God doesn't love him.

Re: Prosperity Gospel
Jesus was rich????
Jesus was poor??? Not with the Blessing of Abraham. He never lacked anything. Psalm 23 He was never sick. Psalm 91 He took care of twelve others, one of whom was pilfering money from the moneybag. Oh, and he had a moneybag. Not to mention a rich heavenly Father.
You say he was homeless? He traveled constantly. He stayed at other people's houses. Probably, to use the same word as you, with tax collectors and sinners, in their nice houses. That doesn't equate to homeless. It does equate with favor. He chose to keep moving from place to place. sheeesh.
The prosperity gospel is a horrible lie, that tries to tie Christians to the world with greed. Jesus told the rich young man to give up his riches and follow him, and that the poor were blessed.
You obviously have no idea of the 'prosperity gospel.' 'It' does not 'try to tie Christians to the world with greed.' Hog wash. "The love of money is the root of all evil. You can commit that sin without having money. It's a matter of the heart.
The rich young ruler was told to sell all he had and give it to the poor, not because Jesus wanted him to be poor, but because he wanted to show the man his own selfish heart. He loved the man. He only lacked one thing. It wasn't a sin to be rich. Having money was not his problem. His problem was that the money had him. It was a sin to not be rich toward God, and generous to the poor.
If the rich young ruler had given away all he had, then, as Jesus said, "It will be given to you again, good measure, pressed down and running over will men give into your bosom." The idea of "running over" means more than he had before.
Jesus also said, "Every one who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother, or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much, and will inherit eternal life." Houses and fields are on this earth.
Want to insert a sheeesh!?
You said the poor were blessed? He said, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." You can be poor in spirit, by knowing you need the Spirit and will always be in need of the Spirit, in your spirit. "The kingdom of heaven is within you." Be in need there.
Jesus is the Word of God, Who said, "The blessing of the Lord maketh rich, and adds no sorrow with it." Its in Proverbs. The End From The Beginning by Ty Aldrich is available at www.lulu.com/content/2614100 It is NOW AVALABLE through Barnes and Noble in ebook format.
