If the rumors are true: 10.5.2

      http://gizmodo.com/355161/os-x-leopa...arency-stacks/

I've been waiting for this. I'm guessing there's a mad scramble for it since Software Update won't fully connect to the server.

I believe this is the direct download.

Well, turns out Apple is listening:
      Picture 1.png

      No more need for leocolorbar.

The change in drop-down menu translucency is noticeable too. I never thought that was an issue before though. If apple really wanted to make me happy they'd have a slider so I could choose my level of transparency.

I like the translucent menus... please tell me they didn't get rid of them.

They are just a lot less translucent. I do like the more translucent menus.

Hmmm, maybe I was just too impatient, but my 10.5.2 update seemed to hang. So I held the power button down and tried to start up and it just hung at the gray Apple screen.

So I had to reinstall Leopard. I used the Archive and Install though and my set up is exactly the way I left it.

I love the Mac OS X installer.

That sucks. Mine installed without an issue. I did it at work and busied myself with other things, so I didn't pay attention to how long it took.

The installation process should not be interrupted, even if the progress bar remains unchanged for several minutes. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Support Downloads to update.

So far I really like the new Time Machine menu item. Before whenever I wanted to manually initiate a backup I had to drag the icon to the dock. So this at least is a major step up.

Other than that, no real changes that I've noticed.

      Of the menus too?
You mean the pull downs? No but of the bar itself. There is a program I had that did the opacity thing with the pull-downs, but crap I forgot what it was.

Well, the ideal for me would be opaque menu bar, and adjustable translucence of the pull down menus.

If you remember the name of that program, that would be sweet.

A lot of the updates I saw listed were bug fixes. Really, I haven't experienced and bugs that I didn't directly cause.

And I have yet to set up time machine on this, mostly because most of my media is still on the 200GB internal on my PC or my 400GB external. Though I do NOT want to lose what I have on here.

I had though about picking up a g5 mac mini on ebay for that purpose. I'm still not sure how I'm going to organize all of this.

I'd love a Mac Mini and a Drobo combo. That would be sweet.
