Singer Robert Palmer dead at 54
Rocker Robert Palmer Dead
- Rock singer Robert Palmer, the snappy dresser who fronted a band of sexy drones in the hit video "Addicted to Love," died Friday in Paris of a heart attack, according to his record company, Universal Music. He was 54.
As a child of the 80s, I grew up with and enjoyed (still do) his music. I remember driving around town with my friends with his music blaring on the stereo speakers. He'll be missed. (And I feel really old, now.)

Saw this story earlier, but personal matters kept me from posting. I'll always remember the drones...
We keep losing the good ones, don't we?I may not yet be as old as dirt, but dirt and I are starting to have an awful lot in common... Stephen Donaldson - Author of my favorite series (The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant)

If your goal is purity of heart
be prepared to be thought very odd.

Having had a heart attack myself, these stories always remind me how close I came to dying myself.
I believe he had just completed a new CD, which will probably sell better than it otherwise would have now. But as for me, I felt that hius best work was done with the Taylor brothers from Duran Duran in The Power Company album."It is the very truth of God and not the invention of any man." - Rich Mullins

- As did I. He died too young."In better times, we even had laws prohibiting homosexual behavior enev [sic] though we had the Bill of Rights at that time." - Kewlie
"That was a rather sexist comment if I ever saw one." - Kewlie
"The problem would appear to be prejudice on your part." - Kewlie
"You're quite free to display your bigotry and intolerance anyway you wish. Your display ... highlights the hypocritical intolerance of the left." - Kewlie
"Another thread with a dishonest title seasoned with hate and bigotry" - Kewlie
"Not Minn, his are one sided and hateful, laced with intense bigotry against anything Christian" - Kewlie
"I don't believe in tolerance and have never claimed that I do." - Kewlie
"Otherwise, your statement would be funny if it weren't filled with so much hate." - Kewlie

one of the things that I always liked about him (besides his singing, that is) was that he has a sense of style. I read an interview with him in which he stated that he wasn't trying to be a fashion icon, he just thought that if one was going to go out into public, one should look nice. He'll be missed. We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from true God....
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father,
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

As much as it pains me to agree with Jinx on anything, Robert Palmer will be greatly missed. He was an icon. And I, too, really enjoyed his work with Power Station (although the Taylor "brothers" are not related to each other). The Best of the Best: Rush, Queen, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Savatage, TSO, Nightwish, Stratovarius, Freedom Call, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dimmu Borgir, Blind Guardian, Edguy, Avantasia, Symphony X, Dream Theater ... to be continued ...
