Singer Robert Palmer dead at 54
Rocker Robert Palmer Dead
- Rock singer Robert Palmer, the snappy dresser who fronted a band of sexy drones in the hit video "Addicted to Love," died Friday in Paris of a heart attack, according to his record company, Universal Music. He was 54.
As a child of the 80s, I grew up with and enjoyed (still do) his music. I remember driving around town with my friends with his music blaring on the stereo speakers. He'll be missed. (And I feel really old, now.)Last edited by The Laughing Man; September 26th 2003 at 01:00 PM.

Saw this story earlier, but personal matters kept me from posting. I'll always remember the drones...
We keep losing the good ones, don't we?

Having had a heart attack myself, these stories always remind me how close I came to dying myself.
I believe he had just completed a new CD, which will probably sell better than it otherwise would have now. But as for me, I felt that hius best work was done with the Taylor brothers from Duran Duran in The Power Company album."It is the very truth of God and not the invention of any man." - Rich Mullins

- As did I. He died too young.

one of the things that I always liked about him (besides his singing, that is) was that he has a sense of style. I read an interview with him in which he stated that he wasn't trying to be a fashion icon, he just thought that if one was going to go out into public, one should look nice. He'll be missed.
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from true God....
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father,
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

As much as it pains me to agree with Jinx on anything, Robert Palmer will be greatly missed. He was an icon. And I, too, really enjoyed his work with Power Station (although the Taylor "brothers" are not related to each other).
