Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
    Trust God…

    Shalom!

This morning while reading in the Psalms I read, “My heart pounds in my chest. The terror of death assaults me. Fear and trembling overwhelm me, and I can’t stop shaking.” (Psalm 55:4–5, NLT) I thought to myself, “My heart still pounds in my chest, I still get short of breath but thanks to God the fear, trembling, and shaking no longer accompany it.

As I read those two verses, I found myself back in early November of 2013 and I heard Patti asking me, “What did the doctor tell you?” Remembering her question I could feel the wetness and warmth of the tears forming in my eyes, I could feel the fear building up in me as I replied, “He said I had a heart attack.” That was the last time fear gripped me has hard as it did. The Holy Spirit escorted me across the point of no return, that imaginary point where trusting the outcome of our adversities completely to God overpowers the anxiety generated by our adversities.

Sitting here thinking about my life then and now is it any wonder one of my favorite bible verses is, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31, NLT)?

There are times when I am not sure whether or not I should be writing about my own struggles, “Gary, no one wants to hear about you,” I hear myself saying. But along comes David reminding me, “I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 40:1–3, NLT)

It is my prayer that Isaiah 40:31 will become a favorite of yours. And remember what God does for one person he will do for all persons, especially YOU!

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!
    GRACE and PEACE,
    Gary
