"The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone and I must follow if I can. Pursuing it with eager feet until it joins some larger way, where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say." - Tolkien

Re: Welcome home friend
Leonhard, I am very happy to hear that. Anytime you need to talk, IM me on AIM. I'm praying for you as you start off on this walk!
What if a demon were to creep after you one night and say, "This life that you live must be lived by you once again and innumerable times more; and every pain and joy and thought and sigh must come again to you, all in the same sequence. The eternal hourglass will again and again be turned -- and you with it!"? Would you throw yourself down, gnash your teeth and curse that demon? Or would you answer, "Never have I heard anything more divine"? ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

AWESOME!!!! It's wonderful to have you back, brother! Excellent news!!
"If God has given [his people] such joy now, joy in their faith, in their hope, in love, in the truth of his scriptures, what kind of joy is he preparing for them at the end? If he feeds them like this on the journey, how will he feast them in their homeland?"--Augustine of Hippo
"It cannot be that the people should grow in grace unless they give themselves to reading. A reading people will always be a knowing people."--John Wesley
"Wherever men are still theological there is still some chance of their being logical."--G. K. Chesterton

Re: Welcome home friend
Yes; supergood news !
When I was no longer asking Him to do so, the Lord in loving-kindness and mercy--undeserved--did this for me:
"He brought me up from the roaring pit, up from the muddy ooze, and set my feet on a rock, making my footing firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to him."
I hope, Leonhard, that as you continue to seek him, joy and gladness will come, more and more. Also, in those times to come when you are poor and needy, may the Lord think of you and not delay in drawing closely alongside you.
I needed the Lord's salvation. 'God is great and glorious, the helper and rescuer.'
In my opinion, the single most telling piece of evidence that shows how poorly we're manifesting our call to care for animals is the recent creation of factory farms. Over the last century we have, to a large degree, reduced farm animals to commercialized commodities whose only value is found in how efficiently we can produce and slaughter them for profit. Consequently, more than 26 billion animals each year are forced to live in miserable, overcrowded warehouses, where there is absolutely nothing natural about their existence and where they are subjected to barbaric, painful, industrial procedures.
This is a far cry from what God meant when he told us to exercise "dominion." (Pastor Greg Boyd.)

The angels are rejoicing. Welcome, back, Leon.
...the compass of existence held more than my text-books had revealed, more than I had ever dreamed of. In short I lost my superiority, and this, though I was not then aware of it, is the first step towards finding God.-A.J. Cronin
