Re: Questions about The Da Vinci Code
Much of what Dan Brown wrote was wrong. Whether intentional or not, I cannot say. The fact his rather not-so-great book has been so popular and become a major movie, speaks to his having touched a nerve with people - particularly conspiracy theorists.
Does it further paganism? Nope. If anything, once the inaccuracies are exposed it would weaken the cause.
Does it destroy christianity/ Nope, same reason above.
To be honest, I don't think it was meant to. I think the sole intent of the book was to sell and make money for the author - and in that it achieved its goal.

Re: Questions about The Da Vinci Code
This is very late in the game, I know, but it is my understanding that Dan Brown (in addition to the book about the bloodline of Christ theory) used gnostic forms of Christianity and the gnostic gospels as inspiration for The Da Vinci Code, not paganism. This becomes especially apparent in the two other books that deal with the main character of Da Vinci Code. So really, paganism has nothing to do with it at all.
