Devil World: semi-christian video game

This is one of the few of Nintendo's first-party games that was never released in the US because of religious sensitivity. It was however released in europe and japan and is entirely in english. (It's said that it will be getting released on the Wii virtual console in EU and US soon, though.)

In this game you play as a dinosaur who fights Satan and his demons by collecting crosses and bibles. It's based on pac-man but more interesting: You can only collect the dots when you have a cross or a bible, and while you have one you can also shoot fireballs at enemies. The bibles however only appear in the inbetween stages where the goal is to collect 4 bibles and place them in the slots of the center box. The devil dances at the top of the screen and shows which direction the screen must move. If you go off screen or get crushed between the bars, you die. Interesting game for the religious imagery alone.
