Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
What kind of games do you like?
Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 are great First Person Shooters. I know on Halo 3 we have a Christian group that plays game nights from time to time online.
Mass Effect is an amazing RPG.
There's some good games coming out depending on what you like.
Fable 2 - RPG
LOTR:Conquest - Hack and slash/Battlefield 2 style meets LOTR
Gears of War 2 - Third person shooter."The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone and I must follow if I can. Pursuing it with eager feet until it joins some larger way, where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say." - Tolkien

Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
I usually go for 2D and 3D fighting games, stealth games, rpgs, open-ended games, puzzle games, and crazy games that are their own genre. These days I'm especially looking for games that have great multiplayer, although this isn't essential. If it's any help, for the original Xbox my favorite games are Phantasy Star Online, Jet Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Timesplitters Future Perfect, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Thief: Deadly Shadows, and Soul Calibur II.

How many of you are going to get Gears of War 2? I am.

I think the Xbox Live Twebbers should arrange to play this "Horde" mode which is a wave after wave thing. 5 players vs enemies in 50 waves. I sure want to do that. It sounds very fun.

Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
What with FallOut 3, Gears of War 2, Dead Space, Fable 2, Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill 5, Final Fantasy XIII... we might as well kiss our real lives goodbye right now.
Has there been a better time to own an X360?

Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
It does indeed. We had a setup for Halo 3 that was modified Zombies. The zombies were maxed on speed and minned on gravity, essentially allowing them to jump over buildings if they wished. They were given gravity hammers as primaries and plasma swords as secondaries. You could use the hammer to make yourself jump even higher if you timed it right (I could cross the desert map in three leaps). The drawbacks were that they only had no shields and diminished health, so about three to four shots would kill them.
As each person died they bevame a Zombie, until the last man standing.
Last Man standing got 200% overshield, full health, and all the powers of the zombies (max speed, min gravity). With this setup, it could take ten minutes for a 10 man paxk of zombies to kill one guy.
Most fun multiplyer I have ever had.

Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
Btw, Ex Nihilo, the reason I haven't been on is the week we were going to get on live I got the dread 3 rings of Death. It appears that it's already being sent back so I should be good this week.
I really want to try for the new Halo 3 achievements!! So, I'll be on by next week I hope, since I am not sure how long they take to ship."The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
I never played Oblivion, though I did try Morrowind and I have watched some people do Oblivion marathons on youtube etc.
It seems like a very good game overall, however, I can't deal with the open ended world thing. It's so BIG. It's not a major complaint so much as a personal one. But it sure takes alot of effort to pull off what they did with so many sidequests, so many places, not to mention the Shivering Isles expansion, which, from what I've seen, is awesome."The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
I'm probably 40+ hours into the game and haven't added any expansions yet. But I know I am getting close. Leader of the Theives Guild, Listener of the Black Hand, halfway through the Mages Quests, and Starting on the Fighters Quests. I could go out and finish the game right now, but I still have over 40 oblivion gates to close, and I am enjoying everything that comes up with it.

Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
I'm thinking of getting Left 4 Dead...probably as a Christmas present. Gears is coming out just before it.
It's a 4 player zombie game made by the same people who made Half Life, Team Fortress 2 etc...
I wasn't planning on getting it, but after seeing some videos on youtube, it looks very fun, especially over Live.
I already have some Christian friends who are also thinking about getting it, but if anyone else is going to, we could get something going sometime after Christmas.
I'm also probably getting Fable 2."The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone and I must follow if I can. Pursuing it with eager feet until it joins some larger way, where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say." - Tolkien

Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
I just wanted to say that our 360 kicked the bucket two weeks ago. Red ring of death and everything. I've been thinking whether we should send it to Microsoft for repair or just get an Arcade version (199$ and it's got the newer more reliable hardware in it).
The thing is, we live overseas. So... if we send it to Microsoft, it'll take 2-3 weeks to get there, which we have to pay for. Then whatever they send us back will take 2-3 weeks to get back (which I think we pay for too). That's almost two months and there's no guarantee that what they give us will actually work (I've heard of them giving refurbished units that break within a week).
If I got a Arcade it'd take a total of 3 weeks at the most to get here and has a higher chance of working...
I dunno, what do you guys think?"Nearly all marriages, even happy ones, are mistakes: in the sense that almost certainly (in a more perfect world, or even with a little more care in this very imperfect one) both partners might be found more suitable mates. But the real soul-mate is the one you are actually married to."

Re: The Tweb Xbox 360 Club
How's your budget?
Mine had the Red rings just a bit ago and so far it works fine. I think it's even the same model, I could be wrong. If you have enough money though, it might be best to just get a new one. Thank goodness you can take the hard drive off!"The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone and I must follow if I can.
