Yeah, I'm sure the ancients would have really been impressed with predictions that wouldn't come about for another 2000 years.

yeah, that was amusing. Just another case of Chronological Snobbery. Even if God did do what he said, there's gonna be more skeptics whining about the same subject 2000 years from now. What I get a kick out of the most is that, Instead of accepting the miracles that happened back then, they want a trillion page book that has predictions till the end of time. [And they think WE'RE irrational ]

Interesting that NO African nation makes the list of top 50 atheist countries given that few of them are Utopian in the slightest… but religion is flourishing in Africa like nowhere else. Hmmmnn!

And, by human rights I take it that you are NOT referring to the USA’s slaughter of 20 million Native Americans in its glorious drive westward, the grossly disproportionate distribution of wealth, or the percentage of blacks in prison in comparison with whites? Thought not!

      I wouldn't say he's above that.

And I'll have to remember the comments about that entry next time John calls us a bunch of "Sniveling Yes Men for JP" or something along that line.

These are the same people who want a 3 trillion page Bible rather than doing their homework and being content with what they find.

Okay, so I'm forum-tarting again, but I found some real gems over in a thread on The Other Theology Website. The thread in question starts with the following post:

Off the top of my head I will state that Babylon the Great is the United States of America. I have not researched the question enough however so as to be able to defend why I believe Babylon the Great to be the United States of America.
Regardless of your beliefs about Babylon the Great, to make a statement like "Babylon the Great is the United States of America," and then in the very next breath admit that you have no justification for doing so, is just plain Screwie.

A few posts down, we find:

And he reinforces that a few more posts down the thread:

      Quote Originally posted by Letsargue

      Re: April 2008 Screwballs

I was roaming the Internet, going to and fro in it, when I came across a complementarian nutjob (note: I do not believe that all complementarians are nutjobs, just this one). Here is what he said:

Of course, I could write this in such a way as to make everyone feel like we could continue to be all warm and fuzzy with each other, but then I'd be proving myself indifferent toward my Heavenly Father Who is jealous for His honor and Word. So my affect, here, must match my doctrine.

Thus you are both to be silent on this blog on any matters in which you seek to lead immortal souls into the rebellion you yourselves have chosen, denying God's creation order of the sexes.

This blog is not a salon or living room, but a table of fellowship where those fomenting rebellion against the Master of the house are silenced. And this is out of love, both for the fomenters and those who were in danger of becoming their dupes.

Every college, university, publisher, and major media outlet across the western world, including those claiming Christian foundations, provides a soapbox for your heresy. You'll shouldn't notice the loss of one rinky-dink blog.
      What is the issue?
      Gay marriage?
      Abortion?
      The Divinity of Christ?
      The Resurrection?
Salvation by faith or by works?
Sorry, none of the above. It's women in ministry!
He also censors. For what reasons?
      Pornography?
      Cuss words?
      Hate speech?
      Wrong again!

Parrot714 thinks it is sinful for a child to read...

A child would never read any translation. Reading is like a speech, it is an unnecessary link, it is for adults.Even if a baby could read a dictionary, it would be a sinful baby, a baby abandoned by its Creator.

Wow! Child literacy is discouraged huh? This is why you vote Solid Snake as AotM. He'll make sure all children will be able to read and understand Shakespeare by the time they're 10.

These people hurt my head. Moreso than the Sheezy group.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory then you must fight!" Sun Tsu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do pal because he invented it! And then he perfected it so that no living man can best him on the ring of honor! Then he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF EVERY SINGLE ONE! Ehehehehehehehehehe. And from that day forward anytime a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'zoo!' Unless it's a farm!

Then they'll be saying words like "Utini" and "smurfy" while everyone else says "huh?".

Of course, I'm assuming LOTR and all of Tolkien's other works will be on your children's curriculum right?
