Shattering the Christ-Myth: Did Jesus Not Exist?

This thread is all about the new book on the Christ myth that Tekton will be publishing in May/June as part of the new Building Blocks teaching series. I'm working on the final editing now and plan to submit the mss. to Xulon for a self-pub job no later than May 15.

This project will be a bit unusual in that I have a team of contributors adding in their own chapters. A couple of them are right here on TWeb!

I'm still working on the final Table of Contents, but there will definitely be five sections.

Part 1: The Extra-Biblical Evidence (Josephus, Tacitus, etc.)

Part 2: The Christ Myth, Thesis One: The “Silence” Thesis (Doherty/Wells stuff)

Part 3: The Christ Myth, Thesis Two: The “Copycat” Thesis (Acharya/Freke-Gandy stuff)

Part 4: The Christ Myth Goes Hollywood (The God Who Wasn't There and Zeitgeist)

Part 5: Additional Material (includes a chapter on the Nazareth myth)

      http://www.tektoonics.com

Due to rampant stupidity by Skeptics, and time issues, I'm only going to be on TWeb in my own (tektonics.org) section from now on. Deal with it.

      Most excellent!

People aren't moral and rational because some sort of religion or atheism has automatically put that moral or rational thinking in them; people are moral and rational because they are the image of a loving and wise God.

That sounds great but I think for the hollywood chapter it should be "The Audience that Wasn't There"

Personally, I think that's gonna be covered by a contributor. Unless JP has in fact reviewed it and has been waiting till this book to present his review.

Is there going to be a special pre-publication discount price?

Correct. He can even speak up if he wants to.

s there going to be a special pre-publication discount price?
Hum. I suppose I could do that, but since Xulon sets the price after printing, I have no idea what the "discount" would be. Lemme think about what I can do.

Don't take me too seriously, JP, as I have no problem financially supporting your work and I know that you won't be setting the price at some ridiculous level to insure you make an obscene profit. But I know that there could be a large interest for it among continually-stony-broke high-school & college kids, so maybe faxing a copy of their student ID with their order would be enough for some break in the price. Just a thought, that's all.
