      The Big Story, Take 2

Version tweaked for use in the Southeast region. Less environment, more Atonement. Instead of "Christ's resources," we've got "He wants to give us the power to love God and love people." Now gives a typical set of steps to salvation.Still the emphasis on social justice.

      Discuss.

And do not wonder that a man may become an imitator of God. He can, if he is willing. For it is not by ruling over his neighbours, or by seeking to hold the supremacy over those that are weaker, or by being rich, and showing violence towards those that are inferior, that happiness is found; nor can any one by these things become an imitator of God. But these things do not at all constitute His majesty. On the contrary he who takes upon himself the burden of his neighbour; he who, in whatsoever respect he may be superior, is ready to benefit another who is deficient; he who, whatsoever things he has received from God, by distributing these to the needy, becomes a god to those who receive [his benefits]: he is an imitator of God.

I'm sorry. The video didn't capture my interest and didn't seem to make a quick point.

Are you asking whether people like the summary of the gospel or are you asking whether the video best represents God's overall plan in the universe from Adam to the Resurrection?

Primarily I was wondering whether this would be considered to fix the faults of the other version, which received a lot of criticism. But if you didn't see that one, no need to go back to it. I was just curious about things like:

-is it an okay gospel presentation? Would you be okay with the Christians in your life using this in evangelism?

      - How does it compare to other presentations like the Bridge Diagram or Four Spiritual Laws?

      - Do you like the more holistic approach?

Re: The Big Story, Take 2

Alright, I finally had a chance to watch it through, and I must say that this adaptation is a major improvement on the previous version. Now, granted, the guy in the video has a pretty somnolent voice, and staring at a video of a sheet of paper isn't exactly thrilling, so I struggled to be attentive to the message... but other than that, it's a definite step up. I still don't think that they're enough on-target (though I'd naturally have even stronger criticisms of the 'traditional' gospel presentations in that respect), and the phrase "resistance movement" just comes across as rather awkward (I think that part could use a tiny bit of tweaking--maybe just sticking with the term "revolution" throughout would've patched things up a tad, at least in my opinion), and I rather wish that Jesus had been acknowledged (except for the brief incarnational clause) with a title a tad more exalted than "leader" (this other 'L-word' comes to mind as an interesting suggestion)... but beyond that, I frankly can't say I have much objection to this new one. They're making good progress. So as for those three bulleted question lines: (1) yes, and sure; (2) better; and (3) definitely.
"If God has given [his people] such joy now, joy in their faith, in their hope, in love, in the truth of his scriptures, what kind of joy is he preparing for them at the end? If he feeds them like this on the journey, how will he feast them in their homeland?"

Yeah, I know what you guys mean. I've since discovered there's a PDF version as well, but it's not really the same as the video.
