The harshest critics won't come from non-believers but from the traditional church. They will comment vigorously on things they have not witnessed. I actually watched a couple of serives on the net and theses people were not freaked out.
But it is always going to be culture and strangeness that will drive the criticism. The whole of christianity was birthed at Pentecost.

Will all the naysayers ignore the report from an NBC Newsproducer in the previous post? Will they ignore all the positive comments posted to the NBC website?

The chain of events were as follows:
I heard about the Holy Spirit moving in Lakeland, Fl.
I checked on it. I listened to the Holy Spirit.
I waited.
I discerned that the Holy Spirit was indeed moving and manifesting in the meetings.
You judged.
I didn't.
I pointed out that you were being judgmental.
Then you insisted on calling the move of God an act of evil, and all the ministers heretics.

Re: Insidious "revivals"
semmie, thanks, but I don't expect anything more from Ty. He seems the very excitable and gullable type. If anyone questions what he thinks is true, then they must be evil and questioning God himself.
I guess if it weren't for people like Ty, TBN would be out of business.
...We can only pray.

Re: Insidious "revivals"
The chain of events were as follows:
I heard about the Holy Spirit moving in Howick, Kwazulu-Natal. with this wonderful new out pouring called the Toronto Blessing.
We also listened to teachings and studies the book of Rick Joyner.
I checked on it. I listened to the Holy Spirit. I investigated further, and I compared things to the Bible.
I discovered that the reports I heard out of Toronto, and felt a check from the Holy Spirit with these things. I investigated more and got reports from men involved from the very beginning who now regard this as an attack on the Church where the Church has been deceived into thinking that this is from God.
Then based on my discernment I made a judgement call.
The information I had from Joyner's own writings convinced me that by Biblical standard he is a false prophet."If you can ever make any major religion look absolutely ludicrous, chances are you haven't understood it"

Re: Insidious "revivals"
I watched the revival for about 2 hours on Sunday night and about 1.5 hours yesterday, and on Sunday, there was yet another great example of exactly what I have been talking about. (Again, this is from memory, so a couple of details may be a bit off)
A man came up, visibly limping to testify to a healing. Bentley's assistant indicated that the man had suffered a stroke about a year ago and as a result (or maybe separately?) suffered from diabetes, for which he had to take medicine several times per day. However, after watching the revival over the internet from his home in NC, he claimed he had been healed of diabetes and had not taken his medicine in 2 weeks. When the man spoke, it was quite obvious that he had in fact had a stroke; the left side of his face drooped and his speaking was obviously affected. He became very emotional that he had been healed of diabetes. Bentley declared that he was also healed of his stroke, and touched him, and the man fell down and lay on the floor for about 10 minutes.
Now here's the kicker. Bentley during that time moves on to minister to other people. All the while, the man who had just been healed of the stroke continued to lie on the floor. Finally, after about 10 minutes of lying there, he begins to stir, and someone bends over to help him up, and just as he's about to be helped to his feet...the camera cuts to a close shot of Bentley. By the time the camera zooms out again, the man has left the stage, and we never see him again on camera that night (at least not until I finished watching at about 10:15 pm or so)
Now, again, I believe God could have healed this man of the after-effects of the stroke, and I sincerely pray that He did heal Him, or that He will do so. But I am willing to bet dollars to donuts that the man walked off the stage with the same limp that he had when walked onto the stage. If that weren't the case, why wouldn't Bentley point to the man and say "Hey everybody! Look at this guy! Remember how he walked up here limping, and with a drooping face! He's been healed of the effects of that stroke! Come over here and speak into the microphone, brother -- look how clearly he's now able to speak!"
So, if they're handing out a one-page form for people to document their healing, that is a start, I suppose. But again, they show a startling lack of interest in whether the people that they claim to have healed, have actually been healed! They will give all the time in the world for people to come up from the audience who claim that they have been healed, but for the people that have apparently just been healed right there on the stage, those people are knocked down in the spirit, and then quietly escorted off the stage when the cameras aren't looking.
At best, this shows the lack of interest in verification on the part of the organizers. Of course, one could put a more cynical spin on it, but for now, I'll simply say that I continue to find this very troubling.
