Re: Insidious "revivals"
We're not talking about 1 or two people Ty. We're talking about 70 000 people and it was visible up to 40 kilometres away.
And I think you're forgetting Ty, I'm someone who believes that God does supernaturally heal. My own sister went from being crippled (and was going to be put into leg irons) to being able to walk with no problems in seconds.
That doesn't change the fact that I've also seen many "healing ministries" which are completely bogus. Where people claim to be healed, but hours later after the adrenalin has worn off they have the same old problems they had before hand."If you can ever make any major religion look absolutely ludicrous, chances are you haven't understood it"

"I would join countless numbers of evangelical Protestants and say I have come to know Christ with fulfilling and life-changing effects and daily witness His grace and leadership in my life. But just because God in His grace and mercy has met us where we are and adapted Himself to our unique cultural and religious circumstances in no way means He has abandoned His original plan. God does not contradict Himself. Truth is intolerant, and truth is found in the Church’s living and Holy Tradition. It is my growing conviction that only a strong living Tradition can protect us from the corrosive and destructive forces of modern life, the insidious and deceptive effects of modern pluralism, and the disheartening and confusing proliferation of religious opinions...What are we to do with this "cloud of witnesses," this Holy Tradition through which they live and speak with such clarity and certitude? Well, for me there seems to be only one logical response. I must turn to the Church and its sacred Tradition; I must listen humbly and be instructed. I cannot let God’s marvelous blessings of the past blind me to what I have missed or deter me from that to which He would lead me still. I must return home to Orthodoxy." Rev. Dorraine S. Re: Insidious "revivals"
I too have witnessed miraculous healing. My dad had a stroke and the doctors thought he would be a vegetable, but he recovered, stopped drinking, became a christian and changed totally.
But it didnt happen on a stage in a glorified circus show. It happened through quiet prayer by the elders of my mom's church and friends and family.

Re: Insidious "revivals"
It does not have to be the way YOU saw it to be true. You can't put God into your box and say He only does things this way. You would have called the feeding of the 5 thousand a fraud. You would say that God would never use someone like John the Baptist.
The people who are healed are happy to be healed, whether you think it was a 'circus' or not.
You ought to be happy for them. Instead you are acting like the Pharisees. The End From The Beginning by Ty Aldrich is available at www.lulu.com/content/2614100 It is NOW AVALABLE through Barnes and Noble in ebook format.

You move from fear to religious devotion, from which springs spiritual knowledge; from this knowledge comes judgment, that is, discrimination; from discrimination comes the strength that leads to understanding; from thence you come to wisdom. - st. peter of damaskos

Re: Insidious "revivals"
Fat Mama was not broadcast LIVE around the world. I SAW what the Holy Spirit was and IS doing at Lakeland, FL.
God sent Gabriel to Daniel at least twice, then gave him a really long message from the Angel of the Lord. Then two more angels in chapter 12. Who can deny that God uses angels?
You still ignore the healed people, who are all Praising and giving Glory to God, and Thanking JESUS for touching them! Judge with right judgment not with your doctrinal, "God wouldn't" rules. God likes to challenge the thinking of the smug know-it-alls.
It is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit to ascribe what He is doing to the demonic. All other sins will be forgiven...The End From The Beginning by Ty Aldrich is available at www.lulu.com/content/2614100 It is NOW AVALABLE through Barnes and Noble in ebook format.

Re: Insidious "revivals"
Ty, you keep telling US to calm down, but I implore you to take a look at your posts here and your choices of phrasing. You hurl accusation, assign blame, judge, and ascribe sin to us. Then, you say YOU forgive us for these things, like you're God. I forgave you for your specific behavior toward me personally...I would never presume to have the right to forgive you for blasphemy or sin!
I am not on auto-pilot. I do not claim God does not heal. I have been in the charismatic church for 10 years...utterly submitted to the process of finding truth, wherever it would be found. I have come out of a decade of searching, praying, and trying to immerse myself in these practices...I would hardly call that auto-pilot. I could call that discernment.
Now, I am looking at hours of Lakeland video, both live and previously recorded, genuinely WANTING to see a healing miracle (just one would be enough) that has the mark of God on it. Sadly, that is not what I see. Understand, brother, I'm watching with my heart's desire being to have my doubts removed.
I have no doubts about the power of God in any of His persons and I am utterly confident that God and I do okay with dealing with this issue during our time together in prayer. So, please don't tell me I'm blaspheming against the Holy Spirit when He is not telling me that.
Has it ever occurred to you that there is a possibility you are misled and caught up in hyperbole? Has it ever occurred to you that there are millions of Christians who don't choose this route of worship and belief that are still Heaven-bound and blood-washed? Judge not, lest ye be judged.
I am trying to peacefully co-exist with you on this board regardless of our disagreement. I am sharing my personal response to something I am witnessing. You are free to see it another way, but I certainly do not expect to be jeered at for my position.

Re: Insidious "revivals"
Ok-I have read through all the post thread. First, I wonder how many people besides Ty have watched the the revivals? Personally, I have and I do believe true things of God are happening. However, with the real always comes the devil trying to get the counterfeits inside. So I agree with should keep our guards up. Second, God does use broken people lets not be quick to judge people even if their is mistakes or false doctrine in their past. God can and does use people. I don't think anybody will disagree with this. Last thing is I don't think we really understand functions of angels and how they work with us. At least, I don't so I am going to leave that subject alone. P.s. The morning services scripture is refer to much more than the evening ones.
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.--Col 3:23-24
