"Yes, I'm quite concerned about health care issues surrounding leaked radiation from Japan. Now, please pass me my super sized, bacon double cheeseburger, combo meal..."
When I was young I admired clever people. Now that I'm older I admire kind people.~Rabbi Abraham Heschel
My most recent faith struggle is not one of intellect. I don't really do that anymore. Sooner or later you just figure out there are some guys who don't believe in God and they can prove He doesn't exist, and some other guys who can prove He does exist, and the argument stopped being about God a long time ago and now it's about who is smarter, and honestly, I don't care. ~ Don Miller Blue Like Jazz

Re: Can you live without passion?
Ok, maybe I should clarify. Passion is more than what happens between a guy and a girl. Passion can be how you feel about your job, or about a certain ideal, kids, husbands, animals ect.
Passion is all encompassing.

Re: Can you live without passion?
I think that you can exist day to day without passion but without passion (as defined by Gabby) it's hard to call what you'e doing "living"- we all need something that gives us fire and joy in being and in doing, and that's passion.

Re: Can you live without passion?
No, I don't think you can live without passion as defined above. Even sitting in front of the t.v. watching Gilligan's Island is a passion for some people. We all have a passion for something, even if it's a passion for doing nothing.
May the darkness of sin and the night of unbelief vanish before the light of the word and the spirit of grace, and may the heart of Jesus live in the hearts of all.

Re: Can you live without passion?
Yeah you can live without passion just look at all the sheep and drones in society. They are consumed with apathy and lack any ambition. Many of my friends are like this they simply go one day to the next without much consideration or desire to do much other then get money, eat, have sex, play computer or watch tv and then sleep and then the cycle starts anew.
Passion is what distinguishes the leaders from the herd

Re: Can you live without passion?
some of us are just waiting until it is time to strike......
1 Corinthians 2:14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
"I recall your earliest lessons. You fell from one thousand feet during the walk of death, which, alone, was odd enough at your age, but you made short work of the walk of maiming and the walk of intense discomfort and tore your head clean off. I comforted you, well, your head, saying that you could just walk if off, because, you know, the cut was clean and then you would punch a mountain. In space!" -Master Li, Jade Empire

Re: Can you live without passion?
You can live without passion. I do it everyday. It's awful. Tonight I had dinner with my parents, who are both very passionate people and believe everyone is put on earth for some purpose. My mother believes that we are all here in this world to find our purpose. In order to have a purpose in life, i believe that you must be passionate about something. What makes you wake up every morning and look forward to doing something? Generally speaking, it's passion. I have not found something I am passionate for, and it makes me quiet the annihilist. Find something you are passionate for, and you will become a happier person.
Best of luck-

Re: Can you live without passion?
I think that you can live without passion in many areas of life as long as you have some pursuits in your life that you are passionate about.
I'm not especially passionate about much that I do in my work life. I do have a few things on the job that I can really get into. And once I'm clocked out I have a few personal pursuits that I am utterly passionate about.I have been honored as an Enemy of Nee™ and LAu Tzu hasn't!
