Basically, it's a comedy about armageddon. Quite interesting observations about humanity too. Worth reading.
Meh I LOVE Pratchett, and I like Gaimen, but the two of them together didnt work for some reason.

I'd suggest instead of the Discworld books(I'm particularly fond of Men at Arms, but any of them are great) or Stardust. American Gods was pretty good too, except the ending kinda sucked.

Really? I liked the concept of American Gods, but thought it failed in practice.

Well I'd recommend Stardust and pretty much any of the Discworld books more than American Gods. And I'd recommend zEnder's Game/Ender's Shadow/Speaker for hte Dead more than any of them.

But yea I thought American Gods was pretty good. THe ending kinda ruined it for me. but up till that point it was quite good.

I recently picked up Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. Very strange but highly enjoyable, particularly if you have a basic knowledge of the geography and history of London (I am not a Londoner, but as a resident of the UK I feel it is my obligation to know this kind of thing. Also, it's interesting to me. Yes, I am a history geek.)

I just read Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk and A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. Both are great books. I'm currently reading Dan Brown's Angels & Demons and I'm liking it so far.

I really liked Angels and Demons quite a bit, actually. I thought it was a pretty solid story and was much better than The DaVinci Code.

I just finished it today. It was awesome, though the ending could be seen coming from a mile away.

Angels and Deamons was pretty good until the completely unecessary plot twist at the end...

      My two favorite novels are:

A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller Jr. and Life of Pi by Yann Martel.

Both books are brilliant, original, thought-provoking, and fiercely intelligent examinations of religion and its role in our world. Beyond that, they don't have much in common.

      My tip:
Gabriel Garcia Marquez - One Hundred Years of Solitude. I like to read this book again and again.
It's a poor sort of memory that only works backwards.

In my opinion, the single most telling piece of evidence that shows how poorly we're manifesting our call to care for animals is the recent creation of factory farms. Over the last century we have, to a large degree, reduced farm animals to commercialized commodities whose only value is found in how efficiently we can produce and slaughter them for profit. Consequently, more than 26 billion animals each year are forced to live in miserable, overcrowded warehouses, where there is absolutely nothing natural about their existence and where they are subjected to barbaric, painful, industrial procedures.
This is a far cry from what God meant when he told us to exercise "dominion."

R Scott Bakker - Prince of Nothing

I love GRRM's Game of Thrones too, but Prince of Nothing has better character development.

It is probably worth noting that both contain adult themes and descriptions(some very graphic) just in case some people are concerned about that.

The Red Tent - Anita Diamant

Historical fiction revolving around Jacob and his wives and children, particularly Dinah, his daughter. Explores a time when polytheism was the norm, not the exception, and when household "gods" existed.

      Good read.
