Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
Naming the “inner guides and helping spirits” and the “seeds of light…”

    Shalom!

When it comes to resources available to us to assist us in our journey to deepen our spirituality the Internet is wide open. For me one such website is Daily OM (click to open), however for us Christians I need to share a warning. Daily OM is a “New Age” website and does understand Jesus Christ as we do. That does not however mean we should ignore all its posting. Here’s an example of what I mean.

There can be little doubt as to widespread experiences of despair in our world today. In my own life I’ve experienced despair from as soft as a gentle touch to as debilitating as the blow from a sledge hammer across the forehead. For me the first response to despair is, “Leave me alone!” The saying goes, “Misery likes company,” is not always true. The following quote from a Daily OM posting continues to help me when despair settles in.

“Even though we must ultimately rely on ourselves, this doesn’t mean we can’t ask for help. Our friends and families can help us, as can our inner guides and helping spirits. They can serve the purpose of a fire that burns throughout the night, keeping us warm, and providing a light by which we might see the changes we may need to make in order to move forward. In addition, there truly are seeds of light inside us, however small, waiting to unfurl their green shoots, if only we will give them the time.” (Daily OM, March 14, 2013, The Valley of Despair: Seeds of Light)

Do you remember Paul identified “Unknown God” as he traveled through Athens, Acts 17:22-24? I am not Paul this is not Athens and I have not seen a tribute to the Unknown God but when I read postings from Daily OM I do so through the lens of Jesus and I can tell you the “inner guides and helping spirits… seeds of light…” mention in the March 14, 2013 Daily OM is the Holy Spirit. In fact you’ll find the Holy Spirit in the most unlikely of places! And if you need proof look in your heart – the Spirit’s there.

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!
    GRACE and PEACE,
    Gary
