Re: How do I make fabric look like this?

OK, here's the pics. The painted vines don't really show up that well in the photos.
I also included the picture of the original dress for comparison.

Mine would have more closely resembled the original had I begun it earlier and had more time to work on it. I should have done more embroidery on the lower part, and the sleeves would have been totally different.
Overall though I think it's recognizable. Several people complimented me, but if anyone actually recognized it they didn't tell me.

The pictures were taken with different cameras, the actual colour is closer to the brighter red in the first pic. Also, ignore the goofy look on my face in the third one, I was talking when the pic was taken.

      Very nice

REALLY well done considering your limited time to work with.

the burn notice commercial worked beautifully, the actual vid just froze. well played google-yxboom

Yeah well, my limited time was partially my own fault. I should have had it done before the other project started. But even so, if I hadn't had the other project to do, I would have had the dress done with enough time to have done a better job of it, even with the late start.

I wasn't referring to the dice bag. I knit fast, and I only worked on that at work during lunch breaks and in the evenings when it was slow.

I was referring to the wedding invitations, all 250 of them... that's 500 envelopes. 500! I got the addresses late, I got the corrections even later... I was staying up until 3 AM every night. I did the last one the night before I left. But making car payments is important to me, so I had to do it.

Very, very nice, Quanta! A heck of a lot better than what I would do, really.

Nice to see that you make a nice "Native American Princess!"
