Mother's Intuition
I posted earlier today about my grandmother and how I was heading back to Knoxville to see her. Well, I saw my Dad first at the hospital and my mother was at home so we thought we'd surprise her.
She was surprised! However, she kept telling me that she had this feeling that I was going to be showing up when I heard about my grandmother.
So what does anyone think about this idea of mothers just "knowing" things? Any mothers with experience or any children of mothers that can relate? Any idea on what causes it?

Re: Mother's Intuition
No idea on what causes it, but my ma had it a'plenty!
Many times while an adolescent she would sit me down and talk to me about this dream she had had about me and it would be very accurate...or she'd just up and say, "I know you've been...."
It was very irritating when I was young, but now that I'm a mom, I'm praying for as much of that as God will bless me with!!!
Mom's answer was that she prayed about us kids and God just sometimes showed her stuff.
Women do seem to have that intuition more than men (in general) and I think moms need it even more.

my mother dreamt of a coffin with the american flag in it and when she turned on the radio that morning the news of jfk's death was announced...she also dreamt of 5 kittens when she married my father...she was cuddling the kitties in the dream and felt they represented something, she had 5 kids, she's also "dreamt" of seeing Jesus on the cross, one day when she said she felt a pull to lay down, that same pull made her lean on her side when she saw a white robe, it was glowing, not really white and she said she couldn't move her head much as she tried to see the face...this happened when she first came to this country and she was living in an apt and this particular day she was depressed b/c she was remembering her childhood as an orphan, ..that was when she felt the hand on her forehead but she couldn't see the face, that was over 35 yrs ago and she still gets goosebumps....
oh, was this about intuition? sorry
