Screwball to me for thinking this was a serious nomination. It was apparently a joke mig was playing on Kabane and I didn't get it, not least because I usually just copy and paste any YouTube addresses people post here.

I'm really to busy to check these things, so please from now on, if you post a YouTube link for a nomination, at least include a description of content....

      Dang.
JP, which of the things I submitted for August was stupidest? A bunch won.
      Remember, I sent in:
      saynotojesus.tk
      Some Osteen clip.
      A "christopagan" () site
And some one who's record player was stuck on "random"
(Yup, I'm 13 and I know what a record player is)

Everything Syncretin says is a defacto screwball, but it's his food analogy in the last line that had me laughing:

Hope and belief in his resurrection originated in a purely Jewish context -- that God would miraculously raise him from the dead so that the Messianic Age could commence. Once this movement came into the hands of Hellenized Diaspora Jews and God-Fearers, it took on new significance and meaning as the pre-existing ideology of the mystery cults became intertwined with the originally Jewish movement. This would only have been natural given the syncretizing tendencies in that period.

Think of what happens when traditional meals from other countries enter America. We usually give it our own twist and Americanized style. The same sociological principles would have been at work then.

As long as August didn't feel like this to you, you're fine: http://maruhatesgravity.deviantart.c...ummer-96868417
"If fighting is sure to result in victory then you must fight!" Sun Tsu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do pal because he invented it! And then he perfected it so that no living man can best him on the ring of honor! Then he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF EVERY SINGLE ONE! Ehehehehehehehehehe. And from that day forward anytime a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'zoo!' Unless it's a farm!

I see someone is oblivious to the depth of Jewish insulation from outside influences in the first century. The Jews were renowned for rejecting outside influences and their "hatred" of all other men.

Sort of... ironic that Jesus himself wouldn't be able to participate isn't it?
"One develops a cool and ironic sense of bitter humor, as well as a bloated ego, and this personality characteristic is the defining trait of atheists ancient and modern. If there is a meek and humble atheist or sorcerer brimming with the milk of human kindness, I have yet to meet him." -John C Wright

"Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded- here and there, now and then- are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as “bad luck.”"

"The government cannot love you, and any politics that works on a different assumption is destined for no good."
"Government money only pays for the "liberties" the government thinks you should have, and therefore it can determine how you exercise them. That turns liberties into privileges dispensed at the whim of the state."
      Jonah Goldberg
