RNC Acceptance Speech
Hats off to McCain’s compelling life story that he so movingly told in his uplifting RNC acceptance speech, after three days of the flesh eating Republican Piranhas feeding frenzy it was a long awaited breath of fresh air. However, did anyone find a little cognitive dissonance residing in Senator McCain’s thinking last night? The cat needs to be exposed on the bag of hypocrisy in McCain’s great speech, particularly the heartfelt language of being his own man and not another Bushism party line man. If he was true to his word he would have reached out and picked someone like Lieberman as his VP instead of the ankle nipper, Palin. Dressing up a mean spirited, self proclaimed redneck, polarizing right wing Pit Bull dosed in red lipstick is not the type of bipartisan change I can believe in, it’s just more of the same slippery lip divisive partisan politics, dolled up in a new color.

Re: RNC Acceptance Speech
How does that make her a Bushism party line "man"?
Seems to me that she bucks the establishment. That's one of the things I LIKE about her.

Re: RNC Acceptance Speech
Please read the following quotes from McCain’s speech (that I loudly applaud), take notice how he extends the olive branch for the greater good of our country and then show me how to reconcile his words with that of Palin’s (and others) divisive speech.
McCain: …we have to catch up to history, and we have to change the way we do business in Washington.
The constant partisan rancor that stops us from solving these problems isn't a cause, it's a symptom. It's what happens when people go to Washington to work for themselves and not you.
Again and again, I've worked with members of both parties to fix problems that need to be fixed. That's how I will govern as president. I will reach out my hand to anyone to help me get this country moving again...
…Instead of rejecting good ideas because we didn't think of them first, let's use the best ideas from both sides. Instead of fighting over who gets the credit, let's try sharing it. This amazing country can do anything we put our minds to. I will ask Democrats and independents to serve with me. And my administration will set a new standard for transparency and accountability.
We're going to finally start getting things done for the people who are counting on us, and I won't care who gets the credit."Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Re: RNC Acceptance Speech
As I recall, Palin was (and is) still dealing with the vicious attacks from the left. At this point, she's just showing that she's a big girl (bigger than Hilary), and can take it, and dish it out just as well.

News Flash! Palin characterized herself as a Pitt bull with lipstick. She called her own business ‘Rouge Cou, it’s a classy way of saying redneck.
Documents detail Palin's political life:

Re: RNC Acceptance Speech
Now, let’s talk about sexism. The Republicans want to use it when it’s convenient to them. From what I gathered, there were buttons in the convention center stating that Sarah Palin is the hottest VP from the coolest state. Hypocritical, isn’t it?
1 - they have the "hottest vp from the coolest state" buttons at the RNC
2 - they pull all the women to be up front in the audience- using them as tools and marketing schemes
3 - they love to talk about that glass ceiling- certainly not letting ANY of us forget she is a woman- exploiting the issue
4 - and the fact that they are totally flirting with the hillary supporters- as if a woman will vote for her JUST b/c she is one.
Bottom line, my comments were meant to be satirical in nature, not sexist, can you say the same about the following link?

Re: RNC Acceptance Speech
you didn't answer my question.

both are statements of fact.
it's not necessarily sexist. one could say that Obama is the hottest presidential pick. I don't swing that way, but it can be said.
see above1 - they have the "hottest vp from the coolest state" buttons at the RNC
huh? i didn't notice anything of the sort.2 - they pull all the women to be up front in the audience- using them as tools and marketing schemes
bwahaha. this is freaken awesome. i just got a liberal to admit that speaking of a "glass ceiling" in such a matter is itself sexist.3 - they love to talk about that glass ceiling- certainly not letting ANY of us forget she is a woman- exploiting the issue
my only other goal in life is to get a liberal, who talks about how "systemic racism" keeps minorities down, to admit that affirmative action is itself systemic racism. once i do that... i don't know what i'm going to do with myself.

choose your wording more carefully in the future.4 - and the fact that they are totally flirting with the hillary supporters- as if a woman will vote for her JUST b/c she is one.
"as if a woman will vote for her..."? I.e. hillary supporters are largely women. and for all intents and purposes, women were voting for hillary because she is one.
way to go chief. you've done more to expose the identity politics on the left than i could.
as were mine, in all fairness. nonetheless, the hypocrisy in lambasting a candidate with satire for not picking a more conciliartory candidate has been noted.Bottom line, my comments were meant to be satirical in nature, not sexist,

Didn't Obama ask several Muslim women to move from behind him when speaking in Detroit?

Re: RNC Acceptance Speech
This thread has digressed off topic. Palin has exploited her gender as did Hillary, so what!
This thread was meant to be about the The Great Populist Divide tactic being used at the convention.
