      Genesis 4:23-25

The birth of Seth came after the birth of Lamech. This was after ~8 generations had passed, beginning with Cain begatting Enoch going on down to Lamech and you may even throw in Tubal-cain.
At this time, Lamech was 70 years old.

Adam & Eve then give birth to Seth at the age of 130. This seems to say that Adam was 60years old when he had Cain.

none of the ages were given of the descendants of Cain when they became fathers but it would seem that none of them were beyond 10 years old, right?

I've been stuck on this question for a couple weeks... to the point that I can't move forward in my studies. Please Help!!!

First, where do you get that the birth of Seth came after the birth of Lamech?

Adam & Eve then give birth to Seth at the age of 130. This seems to say that Adam was 60years old when he had Cain.
      Why?

none of the ages were given of the descendants of Cain when they became fathers but it would seem that none of them were beyond 10 years old, right?
      Why?

I really don't see what the problem is. It seems you're making presuppositions I don't see in the text.

      Re: Genesis 4:23-25

Two things you forget. One : Adam & Eve had sons and daughters after they had SSeth, even if they are not mentioned. Two: people back then lived an average of 900 years, so there would plenty of time for all.
