Democrat elders freaking out over Obama
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...hn-McCain.html
I'm not complaining mind you.A senior Democratic strategist, who has played a prominent role in two presidential campaigns, told The Sunday Telegraph: "These guys are on the verge of blowing the greatest gimme in the history of American politics. They're the most arrogant bunch Ive ever seen. They won't accept that they are losing and they won't listen."
Hey, Obama fights back by mocking the elderly who don't use much email either. He also didn't do much research because McCain does use e-mail. He has his wife type it for him because the torture from 'nam makes it very painful for him to do it. Good one Obama.Mr Obama tried to answer that critique on Friday when he responded in kind, issuing an attack advert depicting his Republican opponent as out of touch and mocking the 72-year-old Mr McCain's confession that he does not know how to use email.
"Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

I know young people who don't use email. Don't like it, don't like the impersonality of it.

Re: Democrat elders freaking out over Obama
I didn't know proficiency in the internet was a requirement. I am kinda glad his campaign isn't the circus you see over Obama on twitter.
Remember once again, I don't care for McCain or Obama. I only got re-interested in this year's election because of Sarah Palin.
PS Correction: I would never vote for Obama because of his position on abortion and his denial of the Born Alive Infant Act. McCain was too wishy washy on abortion for me. Sarah Palin talks the talk and walks the walk on abortion.
And Sarah Palin is more than knowledgeable on modern technology. She put the governor's jet on ebay.
I don't think mocking someone's inexperience to something he avoided due to a war injury is in good taste at all.Nochyu mokraya ptitsa nikogda ne letaet.

Neither is being able to use a toaster. But for someone to be unable to do so suggests that he or she is most likely very pampered, ignorant, or senile. We live in the information age. Competent use of a computer is considered a requisite for most, if not all office jobs.
Nick:Xena:

I've spoken on this topic elswhere, and I don't wish to revisit it here.

While I understand the "principle of the matter" so to speak, You all (conservatives) have had 3 republican presidents in the last 30 years (plus or minus); Abortion has hardly changed or been mitigated
So I'm not sure why a vice-president being extremely anti-choice is going to change anything.
My opinion is that many conservatives were looking for an excuse, any excuse at all to vote for McCain. He gave you all one.
Nick:Xena:
And Sarah Palin is more than knowledgeable on modern technology. She put the governor's jet on ebay.
But was unable to sell it there, and IIRC, sold it at a large loss (was it $600,000?).

I don't think that using his former POW status as a get out of jail free card is good taste either.
It's one thing to be unable to use e-mail because of physical disabilities. I'd no more mock him than I would shadowmaster. It's another thing to not know how to use a computer....which, if he's as good as me, that is, moderatly knowledgable (install RAM, install software, type, ect) then I'll ridicule Obama for lying about McCain's alleged computer illiteracy.
cheers,

Re: Democrat elders freaking out over Obama
Oh please, you must be desperate. I would hope the Prez would have someone to do his internet searching for him and give him the digest.
For the most part you are right, they sucked at that and were not as honest about the change they would try for.Nick:
While I understand the "principle of the matter" so to speak, You all (conservatives) have had 3 republican presidents in the last 30 years (plus or minus); Abortion has hardly changed or been mitigated
It might not. But it isn't going to hurt. Having someone who thinks that is is just peachy to leave an alive baby in the dirty linen closet to die isn't a good thing. So I'm not sure why a vice-president being extremely anti-choice is going to change anything.
It is nice you are a mind-reader. I don't care much for politics, and I wasn't looking to vote for anyone. I love Sarah Palin. My opinion is that many conservatives were looking for an excuse, any excuse at all to vote for McCain. He gave you all one.
You are so transparent. The topic is technology knowledge. Are you now claiming that because she couldn't find a buyer who would pay what you think should have been gotten means she doesn't know how to use a computer? Or now are you adding being a good planes salesperson to your ever-shifting requirements? You are as transparently and foolishly biased as decoski.Nick:

You kind of need to be able to type to be proficient unless you have time to master things that Dragon which suck at navigation. Nice bigotry there.Nick:

Nick:
Yes, the president can delegate quite a few tasks because he or she may be too busy to do them. So, what's the limit on delegation, Xena? Wiping one's own rear-end?
Nick:DarthXena:
For the most part you are right, they sucked at that and were not as honest about the change they would try for.
Which is why abortion is mostly a non-issue when voting for me at least.
Nick:DarthXena:
It might not. But it isn't going to hurt. Having someone who thinks that is is just peachy to leave an alive baby in the dirty linen closet to die isn't a good thing.
I could argue that having someone (any Christian) that believes it's okay for their alleged god to command genocide en mass over land that this god could easily magic into existence in office isn't a good thing either, but neither point gets us anywhere.
Nick:DarthXena:
It is nice you are a mind-reader.
Please point out where I presumed to read anyone's mind. Thanks in advance.
Nick:DarthXena:

She's your "sister in Christ" ---of course you do.

Not sure where I claimed or implied that she was technologically impaired. But that was an impressive strawman you generated.
Nick:DarthXena:
You kind of need to be able to type to be proficient unless you have time to master things that Dragon which suck at navigation. Nice bigotry there.
Please clarify the phrase "....you have time to master things that Dragon which such at navigation."
Nick:DarthXena:
So someone who can't type is supposed to change RAM? You are a hoot. You really should take a break today.
Are you feeling okay? I don't think I've seen you illogical, well, ever. Can you not understand that I was giving examples of being "moderately knowledgeable?"
My writing in this thread has been less than spectacular, but I'm not sure how or why you've managed to misconstrue most of my post. Perhaps it is you that needs a break today?
Nick:DarthXena:
You already were showed as the fool on the weather underground issue, and you are here again.
You do realize how hypocritical, or, to use a softer term "ironic," it is of you to claim "The topic is technology knowledge" then spout off some crap about me being "showed as the fool" in some other thread on some other topic do you not?
I suggest we refrain from interacting for the time being. My opinion of you hasn't lowered, but I must say that you're behaving somewhat strangely today and I'd rather we remain amiable.
Have a nice day,

Re: Democrat elders freaking out over Obama
DeeDee, I'm not "foolishly biased" as you claimed. Like you, I too wasn't excited about McCain until Palin was picked as VP. As a matter of fact, I was considering sitting out this election; especially if he picked Lieberman as VP. I have been critical of him in past threads, chiding him on his stance on illegal immigration, for example. Aren't we all biased though, DeeDee? Even those who claim to be "independent thinkers" I feel are just too cowardly to admit they are liberal or conservative. I'm just more open about my bias.

Re: Democrat elders freaking out over Obama
Are Presidents even allowed to use email in the White House? It seems to me that they wouldn't as they would be targets for hackers. This is a silly ad that will, if anything, get those people who vote in large numbers to have a reason to go to the voting booth - mad at Obama.

Re: Democrat elders freaking out over Obama
Yes we are all biased. But I do think you are foolishly biased. You are rightly upset at the things that are being done to Palin, but I don't remember you ever sticking up for Hillary when she was abused, and she was abused.
I admit my bias openly. I am a one-issue voter. Abortion. What matters the "prosperity" of a nation that murders its infants. We won't be innocent of that crime in the eyes of God. So that's it for me. That's my bias. When it comes to nearly anything else, I don't care if they are lib or conserv.
I do think though that the conservs are being very inconsistent Palin vis a vis Hillary. My conscience is clear. I spoke out when Hillary was being abused.Nochyu mokraya ptitsa nikogda ne letaet.

Re: Democrat elders freaking out over Obama
Oh so this is about Hillary then. How was she abused? I'm not saying she wasn't, I just don't remember. I spoke out - obviously not here as it was years ago - when Hillary was abused by her husband emotionally when he couldn't keep his pants on in the Oval Office. I don't know her personally, but she always rubbed me the wrong way in the campaign and came across as a power hungry politician who would do or say anything to get elected. Those who worked around her, such as Dick Morris, were vocal about her verbal abuse of the employees. From what he said she wasn't a nice lady, to put it in terms I can write here. I was happy that it was Obama and not her that became the Democrat candidate. Abortion is my main issue as well, btw.

I forgot to add something to my list "poor."
Edited to add: There's a difference between not having a vested interest in being able to use a computer, being unablle to use one due to circumstances outside of one's immediate control, and being willfuly ignorant or lazy. I'll ceede the point that perhaps I may have used to broad a brush, so to speak.
