      Are the Clintons sabotaging Obama?

With the news that another high-level Clinton supporter is coming out for McCain, it makes me wonder if the Clintons are trying to undercut the Obama campaign in subtle ways.

We all know Bill's quote about Obama winning big was likely to backfire and really motivate the Republican base. We know that a blow like this (with Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee), it certainly doe snot help Obama. In addition, Clinton herself has done little for the campaign other than going through Florida (where McCain leads by 5 points, mind you).

So, I am asking others, do you think the Clintons are intentionally undercutting Obama's campaign?

      We could hope?

Seriously--no, I don't think it's sabotage. Both Clintons are too good at campaigning--if they were trying to sabotage Obama, he'd darn well be sabotaged, and would probably be at least twenty points down by this point in the race.

Re: Are the Clintons sabotaging Obama?

Could be. If Hillary wants in there herself she might be trying to. I seriously doubt McCain will run for re-election if he's elected. It'd be interesting to see a Palin/Clinton battle in 2012.

I'm skeptical that it's intentional though, but it doesn't really matter to me either as long as Obama loses support.

I think the entire Democtratic party is imploding itself right now. Which is a good thing IMO. Bad news, is there is still time for a correction of that, and they have the MSM helping them out (but at this time the MSM is a key player in the implosion)

Re: Are the Clintons sabotaging Obama?

I guarantee it. If Obama loses, Hillary gets to run again in 2012 and is the frontrunner for the nomination. If Obama wins, he's the automatic nominee next time. Then she'd have to wait until at least 2016, and by then people would say "Hillary who?" Her name recognition from being first lady would have faded, and she wouldn't necessarily be the frontrunner. Considering that on top of the fact that she and Bill have always put themselves first, to a distgusting degree, I guarantee they're going to try to mess him up, while pretending to help him. Bill hasn't exactly been on message lately. The good news for Obama is that the Clintons need some help from John McCain to pull it off, and they're not getting it.

Bill certainly is towing the party line, for the Republicans.

Exactly. Hillary is not one to let herself fade without a fight. Her concession at the DNC was far too gracious. Every time she hears the words "nominee Barack Obama," or even "Joe Biden," she dies a little bit inside.

      I'm almost certain you're correct.

      Amen!
"Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, 'Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!' And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, 'To Him Who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!' And the four living creatures said, 'Amen!' and the elders fell down and worshiped. [Revelation 5:11-14, English Standard Version]

Re: Are the Clintons sabotaging Obama?

I don't think the Clintons wee trying anything with the Obama campaign. From what I saw, they weren't happy about losing, but they always encouraged voters to vote for Obama. I watched Bill even say openly how equipped Obama would be for the presidency and how McCain was old and crappy. (not in so many words, but whatever...) Also, now that Obama's elected, isn't he really just recycling old Clinton people?
