Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
Socialism
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
(source: Webster-Meriam Dictionary)
Biden: ""We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people," said Sen. Biden, D-Del. "It's time to be patriotic, time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut."
Take? Put back? Sounds like Sociali...er...income redistribution to me. Not only that, but Biden said it was "patriotic" to do so. I wonder what the patriots who conducted the Boston Tea Party would have said about that statement.

Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
It is!
I just wonder this, since the current administration has had to do the inevitable, and bail out so many finance and insurance companies, why do the demoncrats still hate Bush? You would almost think that the bail out has backed the demoncrats up a few paces...To those of you who read and respected my posts, I am sorry that I no longer will be visiting this site. I am tired of being harassed by moderators. There are some good moderators on Theology Web, but there are far more hypocrites than there are honorable Christians on the moderator list.
I hope that none of you have misunderstood my attempt to expose humanism and athiesm in the same light as Satanism, as was my purpose in the Naturalism forum. Apparently some the moderators of this supposedly Christian website think it a church duty to provide a pulpit for the devil by where which Christians are silenced from even voicing an opinion in the forum. To have such a forum on a Christian web site not a Godly work.

Funny how you don't care when the taking from is from you and me both and into the pockets of the oil companies in the form of subsidies for the richest. Please.
And I bet you love the government take over announced today with a 5000 billion dollar price tag to bail out all those rich fat cats who couldn't keep their companies on track and took bad risks. Yeah, you're perfectly ok with the money out of your pocket going to AIG."Yes, I'm quite concerned about health care issues surrounding leaked radiation from Japan. Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
That's not his claim and I think if you read it again you'd see that. His claim is that its patriotic to be willing to work hard and ante up when called upon to do so. Not a popular message I'll grant you. We want to hold on to our treasure so badly that we'll fight any thing that suggests we give it up.

Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
Nice try. I blew a gasket when the government got into the business of bailing out companies without them providing accountability in exchange. Bush and co. was wrong in doing so, in my opinion. Your first sentence is laughable. It is right out of the tired ol' liberal mantra we hear all the time. Spare me and come up with your own lines next time. Thanks.

Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
Do I understand that correctly then: taking tax money from your pockets to give to social services serving the poor or disabled is bad and theft, taking tax money from your pockets to give subsidies to multimillion dollar corporations ok?

Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
My comment was meant tongue-in-cheek, but seriously I think they are asking some Americans to work harder and pay more while telling others to relax, take it easy and enjoy the free ride. And that, you are correct, is not a popular message amongst those who produce but I'm sure it is well received by those who take.

Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
"Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
Stop with the mantras. How about this: Quit taking money that people earn and let the PEOPLE give to the poor and disabled. I, unlike you, trust that through a free market - allowing people decide how to spend their money - will end up serving everybody better than what daddy government can distribute. Supply side economics works for obvious reasons which you apparently cannot fathom.

Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy
When we bail out a business we get something in exchange. Something that can be sold. Several economists claim the government actually turned a profit in the S&L bail outs. And in other cases those bailed out pay us back (Chrysler comes to mind). Has this ever been the case with welfare?

No you are hearing what you want to hear. Hear this: Charity should be out of the heart, not by coersion. Taxation is not even Constitutional. It's too bad that Ron Paul didn't become President. He would have deprogrammed those of you who think that the government is the solution to everything.

Re: Robin Hood Biden Reveals a Taste of Socialism in the Obama Economic Policy

I don't like the title of the thread. Robin Hood is an "everymans" hero.
To the Liberals, he is champion of redistributing the wealth from the rich to poor.
To the conservative, he is champion of returning tax money taken by a corrupt government to the hard working citizens who earned it in the first place.
