Friends in Peru

So, the Bakers are now in Trujillo Peru. Haven't heard much from them in the last week, but I trust that God is still watching over them.

They are volunteering at the school for kids with disabilities.

Here's a picture of them with the 18,000 ft Andes in the background.

Please continue to pray that they shine the light of Christ and remain in His perfect will as they continue their journey.

UPDATE FROM MRS. BAKER:

I also am really enjoying my volunteer work here. I have to take a very busy, noisy, crowded bus an hour into Trujillo. At the school for kids with disablilities, I am finding that they have not had anyone to adjust equipment or make adaptations for the kids with CP. I´ve been observing them, then creating adaptations so that kids without a grasp or much motor control in arms, hands, or legs can now write, eat, paint, or stand up straight in their walker, or sit up straight in their chairs. It´s just the typical stuff that OT´s do in the states but apparently it´s not typical here.. The kids are quite happy as are their teachers. Glad I´m here for them. AND I carry my Spanish dictionary and try my best to communicate. Hands and smiles and just a few words can go a long way. I need to take some more real Spanish lessons. I may start next week.

She also speaks of her husband and daughter being sick, apparently So. America ain't all that easy on the digestion.
