Natural Science 301 Guidelines
This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.
As usual, Tweb rules apply. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

no relation to the movie.
On a relate note, it seems that we are actually turning toward the one piece sleek space ships like in the 50's and 60's sci-fi movies, with Space-X for instance.

The future of 2000 as seen frm 1900.
Some pretty good predictions, and some hilarious misses.

How do people not see the impracticality of such inventions? For sport, yeah sure. but for transportation? Not so much. Running people over on the sidewalk, tripping and breaking your leg or neck. Having to take them off to use stairs or when you go inside a store or building.
Which is why we probably don't actually have flying cars. People are dangerous enough driving in two dimensions without worrying about crashing in 3 dimensions and crushing pedestrians, flying into houses, or running out of gas and being stuck in midair till Elmer Fudd can get you some gas.
