Obama is elected, gun purchases go up.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/07/us...in&oref=sloginSales of handguns, rifles and ammunition have surged in the last week, according to gun store owners around the nation who describe a wave of buyers concerned that an Obama administration will curtail their right to bear arms.
Come to think of it, I've been itching to pick up a Dirty Harry myself.

My Mom bought an assault rifle !
In my opinion, the single most telling piece of evidence that shows how poorly we're manifesting our call to care for animals is the recent creation of factory farms. Over the last century we have, to a large degree, reduced farm animals to commercialized commodities whose only value is found in how efficiently we can produce and slaughter them for profit. Consequently, more than 26 billion animals each year are forced to live in miserable, overcrowded warehouses, where there is absolutely nothing natural about their existence and where they are subjected to barbaric, painful, industrial procedures.
This is a far cry from what God meant when he told us to exercise "dominion." (Pastor Greg Boyd.)

This very well may be true, the local shop here has had robust sales recently. If you're not an experienced shooter I wouldn't recommend a .44 magnum.

Dizzle, what are you waiting for? The time is now.
Obama WILL attempt to curtail our rights, not only ones concerning gun ownership. Look at his Illinois track record!! Silly Americans.Freed by Grace

Re: Obama is elected, gun purchases go up.
Obama and associates will outmanuever the NRA ?! Naw. But worst case scenario; what kind of guns could fall victom to their knife ? I don't fear the class restricted or banned would involve those a citizen needs for home defense, hunting animals, or target practice (fun hobby).
Today's alarmed shopper (if you are one); what are the better reasons--that is, what are the most urgent needs/uses for for buying a gun or two right away, if you haven't already got the one or two ?
Obam's win could be a golden opportunity for me to make an emotional appeal to my wife for rushing to buy more and 'better' guns. And then there's all the ammo I need too ('Please, honey!) that I'd need to stockplie. Don't want to run low on or have to resupply myself with these on a/the black market !Last edited by gharfish; November 8th 2008 at 12:30 PM.

I don't like guns, the thought of something that can accidentally go off and instantly kill me or someone I love is terrifying. Although I think people should be able to have them to protect themselves if they want one.

Re: Obama is elected, gun purchases go up.
ARs.
There are several handguns that are illegal in California, but legal in most other states right now. California also has a restriction on magazine quantity. The NRA can be outmanuevered.
I do. The moniker "Assault Weapon" or "Assault Rifle" is just another political phrase for guns that a certain group doesn't like. Any gun could be classified as an "Assault" weapon, rather than a defensive weapon.I don't fear the class restricted or banned would involve those a citizen needs for home defense, hunting animals, or target practice (fun hobby).
Well, one reason I'd say is we don't know how fast the new administration will attempt to implement their policies. Seeing how asinine the gun laws are in Illinois, why wait?Today's alarmed shopper (if you are one); what are the better reasons--that is, what are the most urgent needs/uses for for buying a gun or two right away, if you haven't already got the one or two ?

Re: Obama is elected, gun purchases go up.
Semi automatic rifles are what could be seriously restricted or banned ? As for pistols, how many bullets should be allowed, max, in a single magazine (?) Perhaps I should look at the gun laws in Illinois to see what Obama might try to restrict or ban on a national scale--especially what is classified as an assaust weapon there.

That's why they make trigger locks, and everyone in your family should be trained in gun safety. My wife, and all my children have taken gun safety course from a retired State Trooper.
Yeah, but they could take away your poison!I will stick to poison blow darts. No one can take away your blow darts

While they are at it, why don't they buy mini nukes as well? Obama is reportedly no friend of nuclear power plants, so there may be a shortage of plutonium any day soon.
