Apple's iOS 10 update is causing major problems for some users
Apple's just-launched iOS 10 update got off to a rough start Tuesday afternoon. According to widespread complaints across social media, many iPhone and iPad users ran into installation problems. For some, the update process failed with a subsequent error message asking users to plug their iOS device into a PC or Mac for a complete restore of the operating system. Here's Apple's support page with a step-by-step explanation of how to do that.

In a statement to The Verge, an Apple spokesperson said "We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability. The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers." The company says users should now be able to safely proceed with installing iOS 10. But the initial bug proved a major headache for people who installed Apple's big update in the middle of their workday or for away from their personal computer.

I backed up my iphone last night but haven't updated yet. I figure wait a couple of days just to see what happens. I might update tomorrow if nothing new shows up wrong.

I think the iphone 7 is pretty much a joke, they used to come up with really new stuff with a new iphone. This time it seems like minimal improvements. Better camera, better CPU, but nothing special. But I do need a new phone because my internal mic isn't working correctly. I can use my phone as a speakerphone fine, but when I try to use it as a private phone (held to my ear) the microphone doesn't work. So I can either spend the money to repair it, by a new iphone 7 plus, or wait till the iphone 7S comes out next year and hope they have something better in that.

Apple has really gone downhill since Jobs died. They used to be really innovative, now they are very conservative.

I went ahead and updated my iphone 6+ to ISO 10 - no problems, and things actually seem snappier.

Have you noticed I like snappy?

I upgraded last night. so far I don't notice too many differences in function or speed. In fact when I first accessed it after installing, I wasn't sure it had even actually upgraded till I checked the settings to make sure.
