What sorta thread count are you comfortable with? I once slept on a bed with sheets that had an 800 thread count and while very soft were incredibly heavy.

I have absolutely no frame of reference for thread count. My wife and I got sheets from my parents for Christmas one year that were supposedly pretty good, but I didn't understand why we were getting sheets.

I get that higher count is better, but I don't know why or how you can even tell.

I use squirrels with really, really good eyesight using a magnifying glass.
