      Re: January 2009 Screwballs

Okay I've managed to narrow the stupidest Atheists on MySpace down to just four.

      In fourth place(Bronze):
Someone by the username of: "The machine from a galaxy far away".

      • Said that I hated Atheists when I pointed out that the greatest atrocities in recorded history where carried out by Atheists.
      • Said that I hated Atheists when I quoted Sam Harris condoning muder of religious people.
      • Used "Do you believe 9/11 was inside job?" as an actual argument.
      • Thinks the Bible is a single book, the OT is "Bronze Age mythology", that the main concepts of Christianity, Judaism and the Bible are no different to pre-Biblical religions and religious texts and that the NT was written by "crackpot Jews on drugs".
      • Actually said, "No Atheist as ever killed in the name of Atheism" and threw a hissy fit when I not only pointed out Atheists who have done so but quoted Atheists admitting to it.

      In third place(Silver):
Someone by the username of: "Dangerous Talk: Fighting the Religious Right"
      [img]]http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g240/Sling_02/l_5d44a4ba57804f93a3e56d5906ced4df.jpg[/img]
      • Claimed to have an MA in Philsophy yet his "philsophical arguments" were rip offs of Sam Harris and other dilinquents.
      • Claimed to have studied Judaism and Jewish History and Culture for 10 years, yet claimed that Judaism was a rip-off of Zoroastrianism and that Christianity was a rip-off of Mithraism.
      • Said that God putting Adam and Eve in the garden along with the tree of knowledge was the same as a bank robber putting a gun to a cash attendants head.
      • Said that the original sin was knowledge.
      • Said he hated God but when I pointed out that hating something you believed did not exist was mental illness he dodged the question by claiming he didn't have to beleive the contents of a belief system to hate that system.
      • Claimed that a 1st Century BC stone tablet was "the previous draft of the Jesus story but about someone called Simon Christ".
      • Used appeal to authority and argumentem ad populem as genuine responses.
      • Believes that the OT did not exist until 300BC
      • Referenced "The God Who Was Not There" as a reliable source.

      In second place(Gold):
Someone by the username of Human Evolution (the dude I posted about earlier)

      • Claims that evolution is a fact
      • Thinks that Abiogenesis is proven fact.
      • Completely incapable of answering any of the problems in evolutionary theory I presented him
      • Copied and pasted pictures of H.Sapien, H.Erectus and A.Afarensis fossils and a bunch of other pictures supposedly depicting evolutionary transitions from ape to man, yet when I showed him evidence from evolutionary atheist scientist sources that proved that H.Sapiens, H.Neanderthalensis, H.Erectus and A.Afarensis lived alongside one another he couldn't come up with a response other than claiming I was a YFC
      • Claimed that the Soviet Union WASN'T FOUNDED on Scientific Atheism.
      • Claimed Adolf Hitler and Nazis were Christians
      • Claimed Christianity never existed before 400AD
      • Claimed Christianity, Judaism and the Bible were "unoriginal myths" either implying memetics (which is pseudo-science), the evolution of religions (which is unproven and evidence suggests the opposite) or the copycat thesis (ditto).
      • Claimed that Religion is the largest cause of violence in all history
      • Claimed that no Atheist has ever killed in the name of Atheism
      • Claimed Josef Stalin was a Christian
      • Claims that religions and morals are "evolutionary byproducts".
      • Claimed that in Judges God commanded someone to kill their own daughter
      • Claimed the Amalekites etc were innocent

      BUT in first place(Platinum):
Someone by the username of A-Dizzle: -

I think this guy literally has to be the stupidest person alive.
      • Claims Jesus never existed.
      • Utilised Silence AND Copycat claims.
      • Think that Roman Mithraism and Zoroastrian Mithras are the same.
      • When I asked him to back up his claims with evidence he told me to look it up, but when I made a claim he asked ME to provide some evidence.
      • Thinks faith healing and ouija boards are similar things.
      • Thinks that Christianity did not exist before 300 AD and the NT did not exist until 400AD
      • Thinks that the OC canon did not exist until 400AD and that it was a mishmash of random Jewish rabinnical documents or some such.
      • Used appeal to ridicule, tu quoque, argumentum ad populum as actual arguments and then tried to accuse ME of doing this.
      • Thinks that Christianity would not have survived and spread if not for Roman Catholicism
      • Thinks that becuase there are 38000 denominations (apparantly) of Christianity, there are an equal numver of interpreations of the Bible and thus every Biblical interpretation is subjective.
      • When I pwned him with a massive wall of information, he claimed I "googled it" despite the fact I clearly stated my sources.
      • Thinks that Abiogenesis is proven fact.
      • Thinks that Christian Apologetics is about "apologising for Christian deeds etc" and trying to "cover up whats in the Bible".

I could say many things, but these just caught my eye:

Thinks that the OC canon did not exist until 400AD
Yea, that's right, those ancient Jews must be time travelers because they had no holy books to speak of.

Thinks that Christian Apologetics is about "apologising for Christian deeds etc".

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'

'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

The guy is obviously an idiot, but I don't see the problem with arguing that evolution is a fact.

      H.Sapiens, H.Neanderthalensis, H.Erectus and A.Afarensis lived alongside one another
Sapiens and neanderthals did live at the same time. The last erectus fossils are about one million years old. Last afarensis fossils are about three million years old. I'd like to see your evidence.

Pretty sure that's what he said. The screwbie said otherwise!
"If fighting is sure to result in victory then you must fight!" Sun Tsu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do pal because he invented it! And then he perfected it so that no living man can best him on the ring of honor! Then he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF EVERY SINGLE ONE! Ehehehehehehehehehe. And from that day forward anytime a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'zoo!' Unless it's a farm!

Because it's not. It's a theory (and yes, I know what a theory is), and science isn't in the business of establishing facts. Well-supported theories, perhaps, but not facts.

If you want to get ultra-technical, sure. But when most people say "gravitation is a fact", they mean that gravitation is a well supported theory. Same with evolution. Anyway, it's semantics.

Not really, because most often, when someone uses the word "fact," it's to bludgeon their opponent into silence.

      Re: January 2009 Screwballs

The terms "fact" and "theory" are used loosely by evolutionary scientists to confuse people.

Evolution is usually defined simply as changes in trait or gene frequency in a population of organisms from one generation to the next. This is what we have evidence for.

However, evolutionary theory is the claim that differences in trait composition between isolated populations over many generations results in the origin of enitrely new and different species and that all living organisms alive today have descended from a common ancestor (or ancestral gene pool). This is what we have no evidence for.

Facts are empirical data, objective verifiable observations whereas a theory is is a well supported body of interconnected statements that explains observations and can be used to make testable predictions. Evolutionary theory is neither.

      Hey, J.P.

I had to share this with you. I've been debating "Christ-myth" stuff at the YouTube boards, and was talking with a guy who had this to say:

"Between 1601-1611 at the council of Nicea, King James ordered the writing of the Bible. People were killed to accept this monumental fruad." and then (from the same guy, same message) "I hope one day you'll be grateful to us who spends so much time trying to educate you."

I received an e-mail from a very strange (sadly serious) guy.

This is the story of the one you Christians call "Jesus." You know who's story that is directly copied from? The story of the Norwegian god Quetzalcoatl. He was born of a virgin named Svarog (the Old Norse name for Mary), and was called the Son of God. He led Slavs (note the lack of an "e", a Christian plot to deceive inattentive listeners) out of Řrken (the Norse version of "Egypt" a mythical land with a story so powerful that the Christians made a real area called Egypt), killed a Giant (the Christians were less subtle this time, the name "Goliath" remained across all the cultures), was blinded on the road to DĹM ĹSCUS (An ancient Norse city). DĹM ĹSCUS was destroyed by Christian terrorists in the first century to cover up the evidence of their tale, but recent archaeological discoveries have proved the existence of it. Quetzalcoatl was finally nailed to a tree, died, and rose 3 days later, just like the Jesus story. Before Quetzalcoatl ascended to the Heavens (or Moon in Christian mythology), he destroyed Sřdřm and Gĺmmřrĺh.
Face it, you pathetic Christian sheep, your religion is a lie based on the pathetic mythology of drunken Vikings.

I emailed him back, and got this response:
Pathetic sheep. You refuse to face facts so you come up with lies. I see you have pages by Bob Turkel in your links... ha. Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic.
Let me point somethings out. Aside from the obvious things that can be easily refuted by any 3 year old with a Bible stories coloring book, Quetzalcoatl was a central American character, a Sky/Creator God. The location is enough to show that it was not a ripoff. And even if it was Norwegian, that's thousands of miles away from Judea... and how would they speak each other's languages?
Svarog is a Slavic sun God. Řrken is the Norwegian word for desert. There was never a city called DĹM ĹSCUS.
Call me Mark. I like sarcasm and the surreal.
