Christian and Ape ?
Im lost on this issue so I have only a few questions
1 . As a christian how can you belive we come from apes ?
2 . As a christian how old do belive the world is ?
3 . As a christian how does evolution conflict with the bible ?
4 . Where is the proof of apes = Man ? (DNA) does not count , I want " hard evidence " .

until someone comes up with these great discoveries and True hard evidence I think evolutionists shouldn't be so fussy when people insist on the truth.

Darwin said: “If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down .
where in the fossil record does it show this or any of this ? how come you can find Dinosaurs but not half man half ape ?

Re: Christian and Ape ?
And how in the world why isn't DNA considered hard evidence
Im saying hard evidence because are DNA is not 100% to an ape so thats why I said DNA can't count Im asking for hard evidence
heres a story
According to the factory guards, no outsiders were in the building at the time of the murder. For that reason, police believe the killer is one of the 500 women who work there. But which one? To find out, the police decide to do a mass DNA screening. They ask each worker to give a saliva sample. They want to compare the DNA from the hair to each worker's DNA. If they find a match, chances are they will have the killer.

Re: Christian and Ape ?
Ignoring for the moment that humans ARE apes, why would our DNA have to be 100% identical to a chimp in order for us to share a common ancestor? A child's DNA is not 100% identical to their parents DNA, but the child is still a descendant of those parents.
The fact of the matter is that there are genetic markers in both humans and other apes that can only be explained by common ancestry. One of those examples is orthologous ERV's, remnants of a viral insertion in a common ancestor.
What about paternity tests? The DNA of a father never matches 100% to the childs, but paternity can still be established.heres a story

I never said its not evidence but its not the evidence Im looking for , if it can't fully match then you can't say DNA is proof so if anything its speculation . Im asking for Hard evidence
look if it was proven I don't care but until I see proof aka Hard evidence ill be asking for it.Last edited by DefecTed; January 23rd 2009 at 04:29 PM.

Re: Christian and Ape ?
Perhaps you need to tell us what kind of evidence you would call "hard evidence"?
If you have ever argued against YECs who accept that the sun orbits the earth, because it is Biblically correct to believe this, then you will understand that nothing that astronomers and physicists say, will convince them that the earth orbits the sun.
So what kind of evidence are you looking for that you would call provocative enough even, to make you consider the possibility that man and ape share a common ancestor?

Re: Christian and Ape ?
Here we go again with another YEC who thinks that just because they use a bunch of different font tags, they must be RIGHT!
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

Orthologous ERV's are the hard evidence:

These can only be explained by common ancestry.

Ok where is the transition from one species to another ? Man&Ape
I want photos ! I like to see this with my own eyes .
Think of me as an Evolution atheist lol

Re: Christian and Ape ?
And naturally, given that the only physical process we know of by which nested hierarchies of classification fall out, are ones involving common descent with modification, the fact that humans, apes, and ape/human fossils fall within such a hierarchy, is powerful evidence of common descent with modification linking them.
Make that two non-DNA bits of evidence.
