I went in to see my doctor for a postpartum checkup about 2 weeks after MelMak was born. I actually had him with me. In a carrier. As I walked down the hallway to the examining room, with the baby, I met the doc, who had delivered him.

He looked at me and said, "Haven't you had that baby yet?"

I was little in those days. AND I WAS CARRYING THE BABY!

Of course, he realized his mistake, but I was not impressed.

Reminds me of after our second was born, she had reflux. My beloved was not coping too well with it, and eventually after talking to the Plunket nurse we went to the A&E to see a doctor so we could get her started on meds.
The doctor who finally saw us said to my beloved, "your baby's just hungry, you just need to feed her"
Closest I've ever seen my beloved coming to kill someone.

(keep in mind we already had a perfectly healthy 2 year old at the time, and that you "just feed" a reflux baby)

Anybody remember the Alka Seltzer commercial where the old bitty says... "What a lovely maternity dress" then gets this embarrassed look... "oh.. you're NOT?"
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I did not know that until now.

Instead of asking, he should have just gone to this site for the (wrong) answer...

I probably have all kinds of stories floating around in my head that will only be released with some sort of reminder thingy, like this thread.

Consider how long you've lived this would hardly be a surprise

Never mention cheesecake around a pregnant woman. You only make that mistake once. Then you either make them a cheesecake and take it to work, or you wind up in a pine box with someone reading the 23rd Psalm.
