Re: March 2009 Screwballs
They are explaining how great it is. It really hurts.
By the way, screwball to the new Southpark Episode "Margaritaville". It's pretty good, but it's a parody of the Jesus story. God is the economy, Kyle is Jesus and Cartman is Judas. The government parody is brilliant, but I think the christianity-parody could be more decent.

Re: March 2009 Screwballs
I don't know, Holding. He seems like an alright person. He's allot more subtle than Loftus and most of the other crap you get from other people. I've read some of his book too, and I don't get the impression that he somehow "takes it out on everyone else!"
You don't think you're getting a little extreme with how you refer to people in your screwball threads? You sort of take the bashing to a personal level, almost as if we should discredit them as a person all based on their imperfect arguments. I'm not saying I neccessarily agree with them 100%, but I do think we should be giving people a chance when it comes to considering the seriousness of their writings and arguments. At least give them the benefit of the doubt.Truth Be Told

Re: March 2009 Screwballs
Personal dialogue? Anything of that nature?
I read the book myself and I think you trying to say that he's simply attacking from every angle of perspective is a little shallow and low to say myself. He seems like a decent and honest person, and he stands out in his experiences as a journalist.
It just doesn't seem right for you to be putting down someone like that on the basis that you don't agree with their conclusions. I try to be friendly and objective when it comes to you and your friends here, but I feel as though you've become accustomed (maybe you've always been this way) to judging people based on the conclusions they come to from their own personal experiences. Have you actually met the man himself or are you going to judge him merely by his book?Truth Be Told

http://skippytheskeptic.blogspot.com...rene-salm.html
Although this guy, a Skeptic, disses Rene Salm, he deserves a Screwball for this:
*Actually, a large percentage of the unfavorable reviews floating around out there trace back to a Theology Web user called J.P. Holding, aka Robert Turkel, aka the guy that runs that Tektonics apologetics website. He's not held in high regard even for an apologist, and a Google search for "Robert Turkel intellectual dishonesty" returns nearly 900 hits.
