  • Trump to sue women charging him with abuse.

Trump claims that he will sue the women charging him with abuse, after the election. Any one believe that? I think it more likely that the women will

A lot of their stories don't add up, and the timing is very suspicious. He could have a good case for defamation.

It is just stupid on his part to even suggest that.

It was stupid on Trump's part. Dumb. He'll say some things I agree with, then he'll torpedo it with something really stupid.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I think the best one was a porn star who accused Trump one day after launching her own website.

She insisted she wasn't being opportunistic.

I think he pretty much has to defend himself against the charges. If he does nothing then he is implicitly admitting that they could be true. And the ones making the accusations are the ones who have to prove they are true. Which I don't see how they could unless they happened to record it somehow at the time or have believable witnesses. So as unpleasant as it is, him suing them is the fastest way to make them go away and to discourage anyone else from making unfounded accusations.

Of course if the accusations are true, then he would be taking a big risk in suing them. If they do have evidence, he could be opening up a YUGE can of worms.

He should make a firm statement, and move on. He keeps bringing it up, and the media keeps focusing on ONLY that. He needs to learn "I have already responded to that, and the main issue for today is......"

That's the curious thing about these accusations: they're recent enough to ensure impotent outrage from the social justice warriors but just old enough that finding any kind of evidence to prove (or disprove) the allegations is all but impossible.

Trump keeps addressing it because the media keeps bringing it up. If he didn't address it, they'd bring it up anyway and wonder why he wasn't addressing it. Meanwhile, they have studiously ignored all of the WikiLeaks revelations.

We have seen Trump in action here in Aberdeenshire. He is without doubt an extraordinarily unpleasant bully of a man. Mark Kermode’s “You’ve been Trumped” (2011) has the story:
                      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KthrjjRKoE
“I think God, in creating man, somewhat overestimated his ability.” ― Oscar Wilde
“And if there were a God, I think it very unlikely that He would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence” ― Bertrand Russell
“not all there” - you know who you are

Which is why Trump needs to learn from the liberal playbook -- either start answering the question then transition seamlessly into something totally unrelated, or just answer the question you think they SHOULD have asked.

he should be good at that. He does it naturally, wandering off topic all the time. It is nearly impossible to follow his train of thought.

And you think the media would accept that kind of thing from a Republican candidate? I have no doubts they'd keep hounding him until he gave a direct answer, or they'd have endless panel discussion analyzing his indirect responses and declaring him guilty anyway. Your suggestion rather naively presupposes that Trump could get a fair shake from the media, but he's really damned if he does and damned if he doesn't as far as they're concerned.

Wow. No, MM - I just think Trump is his own worst enemy, constantly giving the media everything they need to keep from reporting anything good he says. He'll actually say something worthwhile, then follow it up with some asinine statement - he doesn't even make the media WORK for it. He hands them stupidity on a silver platter.
