Updates on the Asher's Bakery case from yesterday as once again Christians are forced to give voice to things that go against their conscience. Can you imagine the uproar if this case were the other way around.

It’s really very simple. One’s personal beliefs have no place in business...provided one is not being asked to provide or do something unlawful.

Can you imagine the uproar if this case were the other way around.

What are you suggesting...that a gay atheist baker be commissioned to do a cake inscribed with “Homosexuality Is An ABOMINATION In The Eyes Of God - Leviticus 18:22". Is this what you have in mind?

Was going to post a thread about this myself. Not very often you hear about these sort of cases in the UK, but then this is Northern Ireland so it's not surprising.

In their ruling, they said: "The fact that a baker provides a cake for a particular team or portrays witches on a Halloween cake does not indicate any support for either."

Morgan declared that the original judgment at Belfast recorders court had been correct in finding that, “as a matter of law”, Ashers had “discriminated against the respondent directly on the grounds of sexual orientation contrary to the Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2006”.

He said the legislation on equality in the region could not be changed to suit one particular religious or political group.

On Ashers’ stance regarding the cake, Morgan said: “The supplier may provide the particular service to all or to none but not to a selection of customers based on prohibited grounds. In the present case the appellants might elect not to provide a service that involves any religious or political message. What they may not do is provide a service that only reflects their own political or religious message in relation to sexual orientation.”

A black baker being force to make a cake for a KKK party. Or a Jewish baker being force to make a cake for a Neo-Nazi party. But this again is more proof that liberals are totalitarian in nature.

BOSTON — A new Massachusetts law that prohibits discrimination against transgender people in public restrooms is "punishing" the protected religious speech of churches and pastors, a conservative Christian organization claims in a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday.

Alliance Defending Freedom, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, said it sued on behalf of four Massachusetts churches to protect their right to operate their facilities "in a manner that doesn't violate their core religious beliefs." The lawsuit names Democratic state Attorney General Maura Healey and members of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination as defendants.

The law, which was signed by the governor in July and went into effect in October, bars discrimination against transgender people in public accommodations. Among other things, it allows individuals to use the bathroom or locker room that corresponds with their gender identity.

Healey has found that churches are places of public accommodation.
