Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing…
    Seeing with blind faith…
    Shalom!

I am blind. No, I have not lost my eyesight, while it is far from perfect it still serves me well. Of all the things faith is it is blind. I am living my life on blind faith. While it is true there are some things I can with a reasonable amount of accuracy predict, for example I don’t need faith to tell me the day will come when my body will no longer support life. What I am blind to is where will I wake up tomorrow, here, heaven, or hell.

One of the greatest resources available to a blind person is a Seeing Eye Dog. Seeing Eye Dogs are trained to be the eyes of a blind person as they go about trying to live some form of normalcy, protecting and guiding them. For those of us who live life on blind faith (who doesn’t) need a Seeing Eye Dog as well, only the one we need doesn’t have 4 legs, instead it has chapters and verses. Take this one for instance. “The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.” (Psalm 16:5–9, ESV)

I haven’t seen a person with a Seeing Eye Dog in quite awhile but one thing I remember about the ones I have seen is when together they act as one. It’s not person and dog, it’s a person with 2 good eyes and 4 legs, essentially a miracle in intimacy far exceeding the normal relationship between a human and a dog. I see, understand, and experience the scriptures the same way. For some the bible may be just a collection of 66 books written long ago but not for me the bible isn’t just 66 books its alive brought to life by the Holy Spirit enabling me to become so intimate we function as one.

Those who base their lives on the premise that seeing is believing have themselves become blind. “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1, ESV)

“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah.”
    GRACE and PEACE,
    Gary
