Re: Did Jesus rise from the dead? (tehknologick vs. Kabane52
Well now, let's get serious then! After all, was it not Paul who said "...if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain."? 1 Cor 15:14
That makes the Resurrection the single most important aspect of Christianity! Mighty serious, indeed!
Problem is, I have searched this threat from top to bottom and have not seen a modicum of evidence to show that there ever was a resurrection!
Now, I wish to illuminate a theory about this so-called "resurrection." You see, there is a practice in Voo-Doo wherein a potion concocted from the Pufferfish, that allows one to mimic death. Could something like that may have been to Jesus by joseph , to Jesus sometime prior to his entombment.
So, I'd like to have a serious discourse on that!

Re: Did Jesus rise from the dead? (tehknologick vs. Kabane52
I have always found it interesting that the supposed ' resurrected body ' is still physically imperfect (i.e. bearing the physical scars and injuries of mortality) as with the following example and case in question -
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands ; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. (John 20:27) KJV story book

He kept the scars for us, not because he had to.

Re: Did Jesus rise from the dead? (tehknologick vs. Kabane52
This surely was due to the developing tradition of the resurrection from a spiritual one (with the body left rotting in a common grave - the usual fate of executed criminals), as can be discerned in the early writers like Paul, to the notion of a fleshly resurrection as evolved later and depicted in the canonical gospels and hammered home in the Thomas story - and elsewhere.
“Atheism is simply a refusal to accept deities and those systems of worship that claim (in conflicting ways) to answer the “fundamental questions.” Most of us know that many of those so-called “fundamental questions,” like “Why are we here?” don’t have an answer beyond the laws of physics. Others like “What is our purpose?” must be answered by each person on their own, for there is no general answer. Others, like “How are we to live?” are answered far better by secular reason than by dogmatic adherence to outdated or even immoral religious strictures”. Jerry Coyne

You said: "He kept the scars for us, not because he had to."
That would mean that we are also to see the scars and not just allow the apostles to see them! Then you said that we will see them one day! Then I asked how that would benefit us since we would be dead and could not use that knowledge to influence our faith in the resurrection? Get it?! In other words, your logic stinks!

Re: Did Jesus rise from the dead? (tehknologick vs. Kabane52
What your story book jesus allegedly ' did for us ' was a lie and a pretence and a fraud.
. . . . Christ died for us . . . . . (Romans 5:8) KJV story book
IF your story book jesus had literally physically ' died for us ' then
a) It would still be literally dead and not allegedly physically alive and rewarded.
b) We would never literally physically die now or ever, but obviously ever since the fraudulent claims were made, people have continued to literally physically die and your story book jesus' fraudulent claims exposed.
Better luck next time deary. LOL!

I feel sorry for you composer. Maybe one day you will let go of your bitterness and find Christ waiting there for you.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Re: Did Jesus rise from the dead? (tehknologick vs. Kabane52
Thank you for again confirming your ineptitude and the fraudulent claims of your story book jesus. For IF it is allegedly ' waiting somewhere ' OR literally ' standing at a doorway knocking ', then it proves as I stated already that it DID NOT literally ' die for us ' as claimed in story book Romans 5:8, but is a proven lying hypocrite, alive and well and rewarded for its unwarranted efforts. (Deuteronomy 24:16, Ezekiel 18:20) KJV story book
As far as your other slanderous allegation, I am far from ' bitter ' but rather joyous, that I have the ability to legitimately and successfully refute the christian dishonest ideology you and those like you attempt to curse us with.
You may feel sorry for me in your current deluded state, but I feel mostly joy for you that I and others have the patience and benevolence to correct those like you now and assist you out of your current pit of darkness and ineptitude.
