Dear Jehovah's Witnesses
Dear Jehovah's Witnesses,
My poem titled: Loving Jehovah.
From the first knock on my door, and the subsequent knockings, I grew to enjoy the discussion that we were having, ...in my doorway.
Whereas my neighbours slammed their doors, or said, "What exactly have you knocked here for?", I was hoping that we might have a cup of tea and talk about Eternity.
But now everything has changed, out here in the English country and, though once you knocked and held out a loving hand, I see you're gone again and, I miss your funny smile, your bag of books, and your heart that says, 'I love Jehovah!'
Tenderly,
HH

Re: Dear Jehovah's Witnesses
Hi H H I found that the J.W's who visited me, were very freindly and very polite and seemed to know quite a lot about the Bible, or so I thought. For several years the regularly visited me in my home and I went to their home for Bible study. However much as they were sincere people, I came to realise that they had litteraly been brainwashed, something I asked them about on my first meeting them. I was told positively no, they were not brainwashed. So, in time I realised that they were, they were deluding themselves. It is funny how the freindship I had with the ladies I had come to know and like very much stopped abruptly when I declined to be baptised in their faith. I thought that was sad but not unexpected as they are completely wrapped up in what they beleive practically to the exclusion of anything else.
I had a great intuitive feeling that I was to study the great esoteric writings and I did this and now see more clearly than any relgious faith would have allowed, the Real from the unreal.
In the Bible it says not to add a word and not to take away a word. Well this has happened since the start of the Christian religion, and more so with the J.W's who even have gone as far as to rewrite the Bible with their slant on things. How sad is that.

Re: Dear Jehovah's Witnesses
Gatsby,
They have their own unique Bible and additional publications and rules and regulations of how they should live. It is a very strict code based on works salvation and they work very hard for their 'Jehovah'.
About five or six years ago, I watched a young leader in the Jehovah's Witnesses discussing his beliefs with some fine Christian scholars at Apologetics.com and eventually as he compared his books and Bible (NWT) with the NASB ( a fine translation ) God finally opened his understanding to the truth of who Jesus is.
When it finally twigged, it was so funny, he switched over to capital letters and began shouting out how he could now understand that Jesus is God....he returned a week later and presented an updated list of his current beliefs. He was a very knowledgeable young man and was well able to argue with the Greek experts and long standing members of the forum. Hardly what I would imagine to be someone who was brainwashed! He was just blind to the truth about Jesus Christ.
So who do you believe Jesus is ?
Sincerely,
HH

Hi H.H. yes, I agree with you that the JW's that I knew anyway, certainly did work hard but good deeds done without love are dead and profit no one. I have heard them litteraly spit with hatred at the mention of other Christian denominations who do not beleive as they do. Such is their arrogance and animosity to those not of the same kind as themselves.
I would say that the man you mention could not have had any great belief if he was able to so easily change his belief, but having said that a beleif is only a belief which is completely different from a knowing of something. The fact that the young man was knowledgable shows us that the intellect can be switched very easily by the sway of different arguments, which doesn't say much for the intellect does it? Dont mistake the intellect for intelligence for it is different. One is of the mortal mind and one is of the Divine Mind. I am still of the opinion that the J.W's are brainswashed from my own dealings with them, Your opinion differs, which is fine by me..
You ask me who do I believe Jesus is or was as the case may be.
Jesus was human and Divine. He was a man and had traits common to all men and women, he was no different from us. However, Jesus attained his rightfull spiritual place as Son of God by letting the Christ mind/consciousness within him, rise and minister to the people through him. By that I mean teach and heal and more.
Jesus showed us how to be One with God as He was. He was the greatest prophet of all time and his life was meant as a example to us to love one another and love God who is within each one of us.
Is Jesus still alive spiritually? Yes, most certainly because Spirit can neither be hurt or die.

Re: Dear Jehovah's Witnesses
I guess, you met a lot of bad people who just happened to be Jehovah's Witnesses. I only really met the ones who came to our door. I generally found them to be friendly, once I figured out that they were not zombies, but just extremely well trained in the business of the pressure sell. Just business people, pushing a product. However, occassionaly I found one or two who were deeply passionate about earning their way to favour with God. I have met many of those sorts of people in all walks of life. People who hope iF they tip the scales in their favour, they can gaurantee a good place in the afterlife etc. Generally though, my experience of those I have met is that they were just normal folks who were hanging onto ideas that had been put together by others....mmm?
Actually the young man in question was not only extremely bright, he argued well enough to hold his own for two years, before finally God opened his eyes to who Jesus Christ is.
I am not sure who is the one who is brainwashed, but I suspect you got your information from the side of cereal box.
Sincerely,

Re: Dear Jehovah's Witnesses
HH, On reading your previous replies, I note you say some of the JW's and others try and curry favour with God hoping to earn a better place in the afterlife.
I do hope you dont do that because God is no respecter of persons and no one can curry favour from him. It is a impossiblity.
Just adding to your limted knowlege so that you can expand your consciousness, spiritual one of course.

Re: Dear Jehovah's Witnesses
Goodness, are you that easily offended? I personally dont see anything offensive in what I have written. You are coming from your egoic mind to take offense so easily. It was not my intention to offend you!
You say that the Kingdom of God within is no more than a castle without a King!
This is utter ignorance of spiritual knowledge and if you cant see that then I suggest you keep quiet.
The kingdom of God is within each and every one of us. Read your Bible for proof of that. There are many, very many, too numerous writings to support this, open your eyes and your heart within the Kingdom will open also.

Gutsby,
If you are going to continue to insult me about my 'utter ignorance of spiritual knowledge' etcetera., it might help (a) if you got the sentence right, and (b) if you first asked me what I meant before you continue to do so.
I am sure there are plenty of verses which support your idea that 'the kingdom of God is within each and every one of us.'
If you make the effort to be less hostile, you might discover that my own thoughts would pose less of a challenge to your own, than the Bible passage you are bending in support of your own beliefs.
Sincerely,
Eric J. Sawyer.

Re: Dear Jehovah's Witnesses
There is nothing wrong with feeling empathy towards someone who is trying their best to please G_d , especially when their activities are a result of fears originating from a system of brainwashing based on false teachings. ( It does not neccesarily imply that everyone who is exposed to the teachings is automically brainwashed. Like the LDS many grow up in families and are no different to our own kids, having to come to a place where they either accept or reject the religion of their parents, and many leave and some stay. The young man I spoke of "Zanetsugan" is a very bright and intelligent person who held his own against Christian apologetes and theologians of extremely high calibre and earned their respect before finally understanding, what the Scriptures taught about Jesus. )
There are two parts to pleasing G_d. Firstly we are commanded to love G_d with all our being, and secondly to love our neighbours as ourselves. Text book Jehovah's Witnesses there are, but within their ranks are those whose hearts ache to love the living G_d, and will do anything to demonstrate that love.I do hope you dont do that because God is no respecter of persons and no one can curry favour from him. It is a impossiblity.
It seems that what you are attempting to do, is to expand your own hatred towards Jehovah's Witnesses and anyone who is a sympathizer, and anyone who does not agree with you. Brainwashing ?Just adding to your limted knowlege so that you can expand your consciousness, spiritual one of course.
The only reason I returned to this thread was to present the young man's final discussion, and subsequent testimony, but based on your continued insistence upon brainwashed Jehovah's Witnesses, I am going to leave you to cuddle up with your Divine Mind. The two of you play nicely now.
Sincerely,
Eric J. Sawyer.

Re: Dear Jehovah's Witnesses
Indeed, I agree with you that empathy is a good trait and is to be encouraged. It is putting yourself in another's shoes so to speak and that is fine. However, because someone can argue well with whoever does not necessarily mean they are right, does it?
I have no hatred for J/W's or anyone else, you show only that you dont know me by implying that.
Go within and you will discover how to please God, but as I said before, no one, not one single one can curry favour with God. I do though agree that it is good that people will try and do their very best to love thy neighbour as yourself. Because YOUR neighnbour IS yourself. Not that I expect you to understand or agree with that.
I too wish you peace as you go on your way.
