      The Holy Spirit = Person? / Force? ~ 5 Portraits

      Please compare & comment onthefollowing WT quote, conclusion, & basis for their conclusion:
      "...in a large number of cases the expression 'holy spirit' appears in the original Greek without the article, thus indicating its LACK of PERSONALITY." (Insight p.1019 / Aid p.1543)

      ‘Pneuma’ (Greek for 'spirit') is used of: humans, angels, demons (fallen angels / unholy spirits), holy spirit, The Holy Spirit, God, Satan, etc. (e.g. flesh vs spirit).

      Key / Powerful / Pivotal Portraits of Pneuma
      - hidden to English readers but vital for understanding
      - 5 Portraits of Holy pneuma
      - 5 Portraits of Unholy pneuma (singular & plural)
      - the 2 sets of 5 portraits involve the (neuter) Greek definite article ‘the’
      - "the" may be absent (P#1 / P#2)
      - "the" may be present (P#3 / P#4 / P#5).

      In the original text, these distinctions are on the surface in plain sight ("the" is there, or not).
      In most translations, these 5-Portrait distinctions are partially hidden (i.e. ignored or altered).

      {{Another part of Scripture hidden to English readers is the 22-letter, Hebrew-alphabet structure of Ps.119.
      Each line of verses 1 to 8 begins with Aleph; 9 to 16 with Beth; 17 to 24 with Gimel; etc.}}

      Re: The Holy Spirit = Person? / Force? ~ 5 Portraits

      Scripture Verse:

      Acts 13:2

      2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

      How can an impersonal " force " say anything ? Even if it was a vision in their mind, impersonal " forces " do not communicate information.

      Scripture Verse:

      John 14:25-26

      25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

      Scripture Verse:

      John 16:7-9

      7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me;

      If we agree that the Father and the Son are personal, why would we assume that the " Advocate, " or " Counselor " that God sends to empower His Church is impersonal ? Why would God send something impersonal to replace a personal presence ?

      Chairs, cars, rocks, etc are impersonal and do not " convict, " " teach, " or " send. " Only something with personality does those things.

      If the Holy Spirit is an impersonal force, then way does the bible always refer to that force as " He " or " Him " and show Him doing personal things ?

      Without going to far into it, I would point out that is your English translation that says 'he' or 'him'. pnuema hagion is a neuter word if translated acccording to Greek gender it should generally be translated "it".

      Don't read too much into greek gender though.
