      Father-Mother-love ?

Having in the past read various things by those who have merged their Wiccan Beliefs, with their Christian Beliefs, and in particular the understanding of the different parental roles of which our own natures are fed. I was wondering how this synthesis is viewed by Wiccans in general.
I am not looking to establish a bridge of reconciliation, or anything bizzaro. I am just thinking about how this fusion has been rejected by
      the Churches down through History.
Though Roman Catholicism has embraced the idea. ie. 'The Mother of God', most others tend to be male dominant, and even go so far as to reject the feminine characteristics completely.

Just some thoughts on how ye all view the unison ...or fusion, or unity of these ideas.

No rush, for now I will just settle with this quote from Bucklands Complete Book of Withcraft, from Lesson 2 (Beliefs)

In Lesson One you saw how, in their early development,
people came to worship two principle deities: the
Horned God of Hunting and the Goddess of Fertility.
These, then, were our representations—our understandable
forms—of the Supreme Power which actually
rules life. In the various areas of Wo/Man's development
we see that these representations became, for the
ancient Egyptians, Isis and Osiris; for the Hindus,
Shiva and Parvati; for the Christians, Jesus and Mary. In
virtually all instances (there were exceptions) the
Ultimate Deity was equated with both masculine and
feminine ... broken down into a God and a Goddess.
This would seem most natural since everywhere in
nature is found this duality. With the development of
the Craft, as we know it, there was also, as we have
seen, this duality of a God and a Goddess.
      Peace,
      HH.

Much of that was not even factually correct. You need a better book.

Buckland presents a decent understanding of the Wiccan "history myth," but fail in that it equates myth with history. And yes, a better book would definitely be a plus.
