      Shia LeBouf Slams the Wii

Transformers star Shia LaBeouf is a fan of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 but had some rather harsh words for the Wii recently, dismissing it as an "amateur console."

He is totally narrow minded and example of the foolish mentality common amongst american teenage celebrities. It's not that he isn't entitled to his opinion, but moreso that it isn't well thought out. That, and his taste is too casual to merit the title of 'hardcore'. Actors in general don't know crap about games, from what I have seen, or most subjects they blabber about. Fortunately, most of us dedicated gamers know more about games and their development, history, etc. than he does and he lacks an open-mind neccessary for appreciating games in all forms. He is definitely a poseur, as truly passionate gamers are usually more eccentric than that.

      All consoles are amateur.

You know what would have improved the Wii? Aliens.
In the grave they chose to make their beds
Now all that they've created comes crashing down,
      Down upon their heads
      Death is waiting

Re: Shia LeBouf Slams the Wii

Shia Lebeouf would not exist were it not for being hitched to much more popular franchises and much better actors. 'Amateur' is about the only word that applies when seeing him trying to act next to, say Harrison Ford. Or even John Turturo. Shia Leunphonetic, you are in all these movies as a character people can kind of imagine themselves being, not as a hero to look up to. You're a hobbit, not a Ranger. And when I say 'hobbit,' I mean Pippin, not Frodo or Sam.

Even with all of the expertise Nintendo brought to the console, the Wii is still a bleeding edge technology that will be copied by Sony and Microsoft in their next hardware iteration if they want to get any of the massive amounts of money that Nintendo's making on the thing. In five years' time, even Yahtzee will be immensely tired of all the samey space-marine/GTA shooters drowning the two main consoles, and you can well bet that if there's something novel (Y'know, 'novelty,' that concept which the entertainment industry lives and breathes) it'll probably be on the Wii. Or the DS. Or whatever amalgam of the two Nintendo comes up with.

Silly people say silly things because they're silly.
In reaction to Richwine Affair, all right-thinking people are quick to proclaim that they don’t believe in a genetic basis for IQ. They’re much less quick to explain – with any sort of precision – what they actually do believe in. At best, we’re treated to some hand-waving paired with the phrase “social construct.”.
