um, all those stories about Russia hacking the election, and the DNC and so on? Yeah, liberals never fall for fake news.

Oh yeah, all the polls before the election.

She is correct that a majority of the country no longer trusts the media.
I cannot listen to any news source for more than 15 minutes without identifying at least 1/2 dozen outright lies.
      It is pathetic.
Actually YOU put Trump in the White House. He wouldn't have gotten 1% of the vote if it wasn't for the widespread spiritual and cultural devastation caused by progressive policies. There's no "this country" left with your immigration policies, your "allies" are worthless and even more suicidal than you are and democracy is a sick joke that I hope nobody ever thinks about repeating when the current order collapses. - Darth_Executor striking a conciliatory note in Civics 101

The fact that all conservatives that I know don't bother tuning in to MSM networks nor do they subscribe any longer to MSM publications tells me that their critical thinking skills are just fine. Anyone who thinks that the MSM slant on issues and how they pick and choose what/how to report it, is not politically driven by personal and group bias would be the people whose critical thinking skills I would question.

You have to understand that when liberals talk about "fake news", what they're really talking about is people rejecting liberal propaganda. So, for instance, when someone is reasonably skeptical of the anthropogenic climate change hypothesis based on its inability to make accurate predictions and the fact that the historical temperature record has been corrupted, liberals will accuse them of believing "fake news".

The easiest way to not fall for fake news is to not listen to it.
            Turn off NPR, PBS, etc.

A fake news creator said something seemingly flattering about liberals and offered no actual proof, and you believed him. Does this not demonstrate that it is possible, even easy to get liberals to fall for fake news as well?
              Don't call it a comeback. It's a riposte.

Interesting observation, but his claim isn't fake news simply because he runs websites that creates it any more than Stephen Colbert's conversation with Biden about his dead son is comedy, solely because Stephen was involved. Plus, logically, an interview that happened can't be fake news. At best he could be lying, but why would he? And as I recall, didn't that facebook algorithm flag a lot more conservative sites than liberal?

Like, this is a problem that, for whatever reason, is a bigger issue on the right than the left. Look at Gerbils comment, and yes I know he's screwing around, but those are the kinds of news sources that people here laugh off while people here are linking to WND and Breitbart without a shred of self awareness. Sometimes there are just differences between group susceptibility, you know?

Obviously that is fake news! It made Hillary look bad. Therefore Fake!

                    That's how you can tell

                    1. If it makes liberals look bad it is fake
                    2. If it makes conservatives look good, it is fake

If it makes conservatives look bad, then it is true.

Seems that Facebook keeps running into problems due to faulty algorithms: Facebook discloses new measurement errors, continues to hone its math.

Unfortunately the crazy people conservatives tune into instead and uncritically believe, fill their mind with rubbish. MSM might be slanted to be pro-corporate, but at least it fact-checks. Unfortunately the right-wing alternative media don't seem to have discovered any type of fact checking.

In this day of 24 hour a day cable news channels the emphasis has turned to being first to report something. Fact checking rarely figures into the calculation.

No WingNutDaily article this time? That's certainly an improvement

                                Here's my current favorite:

"U.S. Kids Far Less Likely To Out-Earn Their Parents, As Inequality Grows"

Odds this story would have run if Hillary won? Precious close to zero, I'd wager. I guess they figure that people won't be able to put two and two together and figure out that this comes as a result of 8 years of the Obamessiah, and not the election of the guy whose name causes fainting spells on the left.
