  • Sun Path Website

Is there a SIMPLE interactive sun path website that shows the path of the sun over one's property year-round?

I'm building a house, and its orientation pretty much has to be facing west, which is fine - because I'll have afternoon shade on the back porch. I'm just wondering about other aspects of the sun shining in windows, etc, at various times of the year.

Seems to me I actually had been using such a website a few years ago, but now all I can find is very technical "enter the day of the year" type websites.

That's the first one I saw, but if I'm not mistaken, it's only showing a snapshot in time, rather than the range of sunrise/sunset directions over the period of a year.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

Well, the upper and lower bands are the points of farthest deviation. Being near the winter solstice, the sun's current path is rather near the point of greatest deviation. The sun will set where the straight line for sunset intersects the arc for a given day.
