Natural Science 301 Guidelines

This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.

As usual, Tweb rules apply. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

More like a 10" to get Saturn that clear , but yes for Andromeda. I haven't had my scope out in a while, but andromeda and orion at a dark site are pretty close to unbelievable in terms of how good they look.

I've actually caught those tinges of red at a dark site when it was straight overhead. I don't know about a larger scope, but in mine the color is more like a light pink.

I once made a comment about taking our youth to "The Golden Arches Supper Club" after our church league ballgame, and one of my older deacons frowned, and said, "you're not really taking them to a place that serves alcohol, are you?" It took a while to get it that he thought.... well, yeah.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

This is one of my favorite objects. It is the wake of a very fast moving neutron star, over 1000 miles per second! The grouping shows change over the years as the shock wave propagates out and the neutron star continues its journey through space.
