Point taken, Cerebrum. Believers need to learn how to distinguish btwn muslims and their religious ideology-islam. The former are people and human beings with all kinds of ups and downs, struggles, 'triumphs' and defeats.

But the latter is a utterlytotalitarian ideology that seeks to govern each and every area of human life - public as well as private, 'secular' and spiitual, mosque AND the state! islam is both religious and political (& juridical ie.sharia law). Their big problem is they haven't found a way to reconcile archaic and out-dated sharia laws and 'islamic legislation' with the realities of today's world. To many of their 'scholars' or ulema, for islamic society to go forward is actually by going backwards to the time & norms of the 'golden age of islam' (era of the first 4 caliphs).

So, if moreto and/or another sister over here, were to fight back the 'honorable beating' meted out to her by her quran-obeying husband, with a cast-iron skillet, no less, on the upside of his head! This is considered a gravely serious SIN in islam.

She cannot and should not fight back her abusive and obedient muslim husband, he doing the honorable thing, and she should not prevent him from discharging his spiritual duty, albeit by giving her a beating! To resist and/or fight him back, might just entail her tasting hell-fire, subsequently.

I agree that the the Islamic teachings are barbaric, but as I personally know Muslims who aren't barbaric, that judgement doesn't apply to all Muslims, just the ones who follow Mohammed's actual teachings.

Its just that his whole troll is to get people to defend the bible so they will ignore the whole topic of Islam wife beating and you just keep right playing into his hands instead of making him answer for Islam's teachings. This is NOT an area about the bible. This area is for discussing Islam.

Oh, I think his avoidance of the treatment of women I asked him in Islam and the clear examples I produced that show the horrible treatment women, in general, get over there and him ignoring it does say a lot. As I pointed out to him (and he ignored it), when one of the liberal Islamic countries has a story (on one of its news sources at that) about a woman that was raped by two guys and she gets charged for sexual misconduct and the guys get away with little more than a slap on the wrist should tell us just what Islam is all about.

That word isn't best translated as rape, and even if it was, there is Biblical precedent to believe that the woman would have WANTED the man to marry her. You really know nothing about the Biblical culture do you?

Because this would show that she didn't fight, and that this was essentially adultery, which is a capitol crime. In the small cities they had back then, ANYONE screaming would have been heard.

David being a king made it so that the subjects under his command, and even his family could be subject to punishment. I believe that this is referred to as "corporate punishment", obviously something you don't know anything about. Now, none of the above was on topic, and was all directed against Christianity, you want to take those issues up make your own thread, otherwise stick to the thread topic, which is whether or not wife beating is permissible in Islam.
