  • Snopes co-founder accused of embezzling 100 grand from site to pay for prostitutes

Richard Carrier can now rest easy, there's someone even more pathetic than he is out there. Daily Mail, the greatest troll site in the world didn't take too kindly to being declared fake news by sites that routinely crank out lies, like Snopes. So they went to town on them. They really, really push the knife in deep:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...xen-domme.html

Apparently not only did this loser (you can tell just from his gayface that he's a complete loser, before you even read the story) spend a hundred grand on hookers, he ditched his first wife (and other snopes co-founder) so he could marry a prostitute.

Now a DailyMail.com investigation reveals that Snopes.com's founders, former husband and wife David and Barbara Mikkelson, are embroiled in a lengthy and bitter legal dispute in the wake of their divorce.
He has since remarried, to a former escort and porn actress who is one of the site's staff members.
They are accusing each other of financial impropriety, with Barbara claiming her ex-husband is guilty of 'embezzlement' and suggesting he is attempting a 'boondoggle' to change tax arrangements, while David claims she took millions from their joint accounts and bought property in Las Vegas.
This human train wreck is who idiots like jaecp expects you to get your news from.

His new wife, who apparently still has an escort account up, gets lots of raving reviews from all the other men who hit it:

She claimed he spent nearly $10,000 on a 24-day 'personal vacation' in India this year and expensed his girlfriend's plane ticket to Buenos Aires.
David and his attorneys countered that the India visit was a legitimate business trip, and that he only expensed a fraction - 22.5 per cent - of the total cost of the excursion.
He said he was considering setting up a fact-checking website in India, and wanted to get a sense of the culture. He also said he went to Buenos Aires to attend an international fact-checking conference.
"I'm a complete gentleman, all I did was check her facts."

She is not the only Snopes employee who is frank online about their sex life.
One of the lead fact-checkers, Kim LaCapria, has also been a sex-and-fetish blogger who went by the pseudonym 'Vice Vixen.'
She described her blog as a lifestyle website 'with a specific focus on naughtiness, sin, carnal pursuits, and general hedonism and bonne vivante-ery.'
    ...
Describing her day-off activities on another blog, she wrote that she 'played scrabble, smoked pot, and posted to Snopes.' She added, 'That's what I did on my day "on," too.'
Given the quality of snopes' material in the last few years, that sounds about right.
"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths." Isaiah 3:12

There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.

I won't believe it until it is fact checked on Snopes!

Thanks for posting this; however, it does make me sad.
I guess having a website that would actually handle material factually was too much to ask.
Actually YOU put Trump in the White House. He wouldn't have gotten 1% of the vote if it wasn't for the widespread spiritual and cultural devastation caused by progressive policies. There's no "this country" left with your immigration policies, your "allies" are worthless and even more suicidal than you are and democracy is a sick joke that I hope nobody ever thinks about repeating when the current order collapses. - Darth_Executor striking a conciliatory note in Civics 101

My new policy is to just ask Donald Trump.

They did become quite a bit political in the last election cycle. A shame, they were a reliable resource.

              or.....

              are they crooked, too?

So THAT'S what they're calling it these days.

Been saying for awhile now that they're pretty reliable just as long as they steer clear of politics.

Claim: You can take Snopes co-founder David Mikkelson's wife for a spin for 500 bucks an hour.

Fact Check: Actually with the 24 hour discount it's only $208.34.

The article says he was accused of the embezzlement. It seems rather premature to just suddenly assume that means they actually did it; the whole definition of accused means someone claimed they did it, but then there's actual court procedures to try to determine if they actually did it or not.

Immediately assuming someone is guilty of something just because they got accused of it is why fake abuse or rape accusations can totally screw over a guy's life even if there's no merit behind them.

Ordinarily that would be the case but given that it's public knowledge he married a prostitute, hired another to work at Snopes and claimed nonsense as "legitimate expenses" I'd say the evidence heavily favors the accuser.

Plus, I think his marrying a prostitute is worse than the embezzlement.

For the sarcastically impaired the following is said in jest

But God told Hosea to marry a prostitute, so by extension that means anyone who marries a prostitute is a mouthpiece of God and needs to be trusted unquestioningly. I caught you in your own trap, you stupid dumbo.

Only if she remains a prostitute.

                              1. Her escort account is still up.
                              2. No. Even if she stopped being one, marrying a prostitute = complete trainwreck.
