This is an outrage! the last thing I want is my treasured childhood heroes being turned into something that resembles Wizards of Waverly place or Hanna Montana. Am I over reacting? what are your thoughts as a fellow marvel fan?

I used to read disney comics and wanted to watch actual cartoons with the characters really badly but they were never on when i was a kid. Then I actually saw the cartoons. I should've stuck with the comics.

It doesn't worry me one bit. Disney happens to own tons of properties in various entertainment fields, including movie studios that make movies of all ratings, not just the G(with rare PG) stuff Disney proper is known for. You just don't know they're associated with Disney unless you bother to look into it.
The more I hear about Civil War, the more I'm convinced Marvel's overdue for another reboot anyway. So who can know how the new ownership will affect things? I'm going to cross my fingers.

I think it'll be ok if Disney lets the people at Marvel use their own ideas while funding them (sort of like Disney's relationship to Pixar).

Disney would have to be pretty stupid to mess with Marvel's publishing department in any major way. I would suspect that the most likely change is that Marvel will publish more Disney-related stuff for kids.

I'm thinking this purchase has more to do with the current popularity of comic-based movies than anything. I'm pretty sure Disney already has ownership of something that publishes their in-house comics, much the way they have ownership of(and partnerships with) other movie studios that are responsible for the more risque stuff they don't want associated with the Disney brand.

Disney owned the marketing rights to the RCMP for several years. There was no "goofy" things that went on with that while it lasted.
Maybe we need to give Disney the benefit of the doubt that they might be able to make good decisions on how to handle their latest aquisition......
