Obama: "Yes we can" phrase 'corny', 'childish'
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/poli...es_we_can.html
"I don't like it. Come on," Obama was quoted as saying in "Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage," by author Christopher Andersen.
Obama felt the catch phrase was "childish" and "corny," and even asked his staff to find something else - until his wife, Michelle, convinced him otherwise, the book reports.
Heh. This just goes to show how stupid and easily impressed some people are.
Hmm. I'm also wondering if his hardline abortion stance doesn't exist just to please his harpy of a wife."Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

YES WE CAN...
1. Trash the Constitution
2. Fundamentally transform this nation into something unrecognizable.
3. Weaken our defense.
4. Promote government funded abortions.
5. Trash Marriage and the Family.
6. Squander our birthright of Liberty.
7. Eliminate the right to control personal property.
8. Pimp racism
9. Pimp class envy
...
Most disappointing is the fact that politicians from both major parties are taking part in destroying this country to some degree or another.

Re: Obama: "Yes we can" phrase 'corny', 'childish'
Michelle Obama was (maybe still is, she's not in the news much unless the fawning media's going on about her sculpted arms) a pro-abortion activist, and a pretty hardcore one at that. Here's one example of her pimping partial birth abortion:
http://www.jillstanek.com/archives/2...le_obamas.html
She's a vile woman, and as I've suggested in the OP, I wouldn't be surprised if she's the reason behind Barry's own far, far left stance on abortion. I really don't see an empty suit like him who likes to coast through life taking the easy, less offensive way through take such a hardcore stance on such a divisive issue.
Funny comment I found:
"I knew she was a sweet, loving woman. Just what we'd need in a First --something.
Maybe if Hollywood ever opted to remake Misery, she could be the star.
Wonder how Barack would feel writing his books with broken ankles.""Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. I always thought that the appropriate response was "just because you can, doesn't mean you should."

Re: Obama: "Yes we can" phrase 'corny', 'childish'
What B&W thinking, OtherCheek. Just how has the US Constitution been trashed ? Something illegal done... ?
The nation is now unrecognizable ? How ? Since when ? The military's actually ability to wage war (defensibly or otherwise) has been truly weakened, you say. Sure it has.
Marriage and the Family has been trashed ?! What does that mean ?
Birthright of Liberty squandered ? (Wasted?) Liberty means what ?
Right to control personal property eliminated ? Oh, come on !
What all or nothing thinking. There is hope for reversal--the nation is spared from the tash bin, when the Democratic Party does lose having the most power/the majority in the Congress (right) ?

In my opinion, the single most telling piece of evidence that shows how poorly we're manifesting our call to care for animals is the recent creation of factory farms. Over the last century we have, to a large degree, reduced farm animals to commercialized commodities whose only value is found in how efficiently we can produce and slaughter them for profit. Consequently, more than 26 billion animals each year are forced to live in miserable, overcrowded warehouses, where there is absolutely nothing natural about their existence and where they are subjected to barbaric, painful, industrial procedures.
This is a far cry from what God meant when he told us to exercise "dominion." (Pastor Greg Boyd.)

And the I'm patriotic as can be reminds me of the flag-waving national hymn-singing 9-12 Project marchers.
