FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — News media outlets are reporting that multiple people have been shot at Fort Lauderdale international airport.

On its official Twitter account, airport officials said there was an "ongoing incident" in the Terminal 2 baggage claim area. They did not elaborate.

Miami area television stations are reporting that at least nine people were shot and that the shooter is in custody.

Come on. Even if one were to see guns in the US as a problem, it is obvious the ultimate problem lies in the person wielding it and what they would do with it. CP's point is independent of the weapon used. You don't need to be a Christian or American to see that, regardless of your opinion on American gun use (at least, my atheist friends don't).

Don't let CP's deliberate disingenuousness confuse you. I am aware there are some restrictions in different states on firearms. What I am critiquing are the "second amendment" people who advocate the widespread ownership of guns and the widespread carrying of guns for "self-defense", and those people who oppose placing restrictions on gun ownership to limit the number and availability of guns within the US.

America has over 30,000 gun deaths per year due to the unusually high levels of gun ownership and availability within the country. Those who consistently advocate for such widespread ownership and availability are thus morally culpable for the deaths that ensue from it:

Lawnmowers are an order of magnitude more dangerous to Americans than terrorists. But what is three orders of magnitude more dangerous than lawnmowers, is guns. The widespread availability of guns in the US kills thousands upon thousands of people every year. That is something that simply doesn't happen in anything remotely close to the same degree in other developed countries. Those who continue to endorse the widespread availability of such dangerous weapons are thus morally culpable for the hundreds of thousands of deaths caused by them.
